'The Bachelorette' 2010 Season 6 Spoilers: Did Justin "Rated R" Rego Get a Raw Deal?

The 'Bachelorette' Bad Guy Sets the Record Straight

One of the biggest scandals on Season 6 of ABC's The Bachelorette was the "cheater" storyline surrounding contestant Justin "Rated R" Rego. While he was traveling the world supposedly trying to fall in love with Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky, Rego apparently had some unfinished business back home in Toronto- as in not one, but two, girlfriends. Or so The Bachelorette producers wanted us to think. But was "Rated R" really such a bad guy? Or did he get thrown under the bus?

After listening to the very long podcast interview that blogger Reality Steve conducted with Rego, one has to wonder who is telling the truth- "Rated R" or The Bachelorette producers?

First up, Rego's bad guy wrestler persona. While he admits to Reality Steve that he told producers he was a wrestler and even threw in his "Rated R" stage name to get their attention, Rego insists he hasn't wrestled in nearly three years. His broken ankle was a result of him practicing his rusty wrestling moves because the producers liked the idea of having a professional wrestler on the show.

As for claims that he just used The Bachelorette to further his wrestling career, he told Reality Steve that's not true either. In fact, Rego's career aspirations are to get into the Toronto police force.

And regarding his alleged hometown girlfriends, Jessica and Kim, Rego flatly denies being attached to anyone when he went on The Bachelorette. While he admits he still had feelings for former girlfriend Jessica, he says he was single by March when he left Toronto.

As for the other woman- Kim- Rego says he only dated her a few times and they were never a serious couple.

He does admit to giving both Jessica and Kim flowers on Valentine's Day (he also brought soup to Kim because she was sick) but he equates it to giving flowers to his mom and grandmother that day. He was just trying to be a nice guy.

No Turkey for Justin? Rego said he told producers he wanted off to the show before the girlfriend scandal broke, when he was still in Iceland. But they made him go to Turkey to talk to Ali in person. Of course by then, his ex, Jessica, had already contacted the show producers with her story.

Finally, Rego told Reality Steve that he believes ABC planned to ambush him and he thinks that Ali was given a heads-up when they were in Iceland about the alleged girlfriends back home. He says his two-on -one date with Ali and his competitor Kasey, ended ridiculously early- by 9:00 p.m. and he never even kissed Ali, even after they flew off in a helicopter together and left Kasey standing on the glacier. Rego said says most of the other dates go on until 4 in the morning- when Ali really likes the guys, anyway. So did she give Rego a rose knowing that he might have two chicks back home?

Even if Rego gains sympathy from fans after telling his side of the story of what went down on The Bachelorette, don't count on seeing him as your next Bachelor. There's plenty of bad blood between him and the show's producers.

But he did make for some really great TV.

Of course Justin got a raw deal. He is not the first guy to come on the show for self-promoting purposes. I think that Chris was very Bias. And it was obvious that the producers were behind everything. And of course Ali tried to safe face by ripping into Justin; because, she was made a fool of on National TV. All the guys tried to tell her about Justin. Ali is obviously a poor judge of character. However, I think what Frank did was far worst because he just strung her alone. Newsflash, I don't think Frank is interested in any woman. And for the life of me I can't see what makes Ali such a great catch. Oh, it must be the blonde hair. She keeps saying she gave up everything. Like what, a dead end job and rent on an apartment. When one of the families asked her about her plans for the future, she replied, "I see myself owning my own business and being successful." Maybe the producers wanted her to look stupid. Because the appropriated response would be to specify the type of
