The Bachelorette Chooses Her Final Two

It Looks as Though De Anna Papas Will Finally Find Her Prince

ABC Network's "The Bachelorette" concludes on Monday, July 7. One thing that the audience already knows about the last show is that De Anna Papas finally finds her prince. But who will it be?

For weeks it seemed that two men had a secure lock on the bachelorette's heart. The first was Graham, pro basketball player from North Carolina. The second was Jeremy, a real estate lawyer from the big "D" - - Dallas, Texas.

Over weeks that consisted of dozens of dates, Ms. Papas focused heavily on her "perfect man" Jeremy and "hottie" Graham. Everyone was betting that at least one, if not both of the men, would end up in her final two. However, those bets would have been wrong.

After visiting Graham's parents last week, De Anna remained concerned about his inability to open up and communicate with her. In the end, she just couldn't let all of those red flags be ignored and she sent the one man with whom she was beginning to fall in love home for the last time.

This week, De Anna took the final three bachelors, the three J's if you will, to the Bahamas. There she was able to spend some quality time with Jason, Jeremy, and Jesse.

For the first date, De Anna took Jeremy aboard a boat where they were ushered to their own private island. They spent the day jet skiing and enjoying time alone on the beach.

That evening, after dinner, the bachelorette presented Jeremy with the key to the fantasy suite which, of course, he took. The two spent the night together getting to know more about each other and talking about what their lives together might look like.

Jeremy finally laid his heart on the line for De Anna; telling her that he was falling in love with her. But would that love be returned?

For the next date, the bachelorette took Jason to a private beach area where they enjoyed a day "cutting loose." They went off roading in a jeep, went kayaking in the ocean, and enjoyed a casual picnic.

Like Jeremy, Jason jumped at the chance to spend some alone time with De Anna in the fantasy suite. There he made it clear that the two most important people in his life were De Anna and his son, Ty.

The bachelorette was touched by Jason's words and she admitted that the day was absolutely perfect. But did that ensure Jason would receive one of the final roses?

For the final date, De Anna took Jesse horseback riding on the beach and in the ocean and on a picnic. There the bachelor asked the bachelorette some pointed questions about how many children she wanted and "when" she wanted them. The couple seemed to agree on those choices.

De Anna asked Jesse what he intended to do once he could no longer snowboard. Although he didn't have an immediate answer, he said that he thought about becoming a sports agent. Was the answer enough to convince the bachelorette to take a chance on Jesse?

At the elimination, De Anna was visibly upset at having to let one of the bachelors go. However, she did just that; sending Jeremy packing.

Visibly shaken, the bachelor had to stop the limousine so that he could get his bearings before moving on. In the meantime, De Anna, Jason, and Jesse toasted to each other and to the finale.

Before I share my thoughts on the final two men, let me also share some of what happened during the section called "The Bachelors Tell All." As has been true in the past, some of the bachelors came loaded to take one last poke at the bachelorette.

Jeremy and Graham were the most vocal, with neither man understanding exactly what happened. Graham said that he felt he had opened up to De Anna and that here problem was that he wasn't OCD about her - - all De Anna, all of the time. The bachelorette took offense to the comment and spoke her mind once again as to why she finally sent home the wayward suitor.

Jeremy asked De Anna "when" she had decided that he was not the one for her. She admitted that it was on the two final dates with Jason and Jesse. She said that she felt something more for those two men that she simply did not feel for Jeremy.

Steve attacked the bachelorette for expecting her suitors to act like she did when she was one of the suitors for Brad Womack's affections. He called her aggressive and out spoken in trying to gain Brad's affection during their many dates.

De Anna, assuming that he was talking about Steve's laid back approach to courting her, said that she didn't send him home because of that. She sent him home because they simply didn't click as a couple.

As the show ended, the bachelorette admitted that she was happy with her final choice and that she was, indeed, engaged to be married. In order to find out to whom - - Jason or Jesse - - we'll have to tune in on July 7, 2008 at 8:00 p.m., the ABC Network.

I KNEW for some reason she wasn't having a heart connection to Jeremy. But let's hope her prince doesn't turn out to be a frog! She seems like a nice girl. I've never watched any other season either! For some reason, this one caught my attention. My vote's with Jason.

I missed the show. Thanks for the recap. I am disappointed that she sent Jeremy home. She seems very immature to me. I have started to not like her very much. Jeremy can do much better.
