The Bachelorette Heads to Iceland; First Time Tropical Location Excluded

The new 2010 season of the Bachelorette, starring pretty blonde, Ali Fedotowsky is not scheduled to air until May, 2010. That doesn't keep fans from trying to figure out what will happen during the newest installment of ABC's Bachelor franchise. There has been much gossip regarding the men that Ali Fedotowsky will be choosing from on the 2010 season of the Bachelorette. Rumors say that the lovely Ali has requested fifty men to choose from, not the standard 25. I can't confirm whether this is true or not. What I can confirm is that Ali Fedotowsky and the Bachelorette crew have been seen filming atseveral spots in New York City and that the overnight dates are said to be taking place in Iceland.

Why Iceland?

This is the first time in Bachelor/Bachelorette history that the show will not film in the tropics. In the past the overnight dates have taken place on luxurious Caribbean Islands. For this season of the Bachelorette things have been changed up and they have headed to the Nordic Island of Iceland. A suitable locale if you ask me to fit the Nordic looks of blonde bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky.

Which Romantic Icelandic Spots Can We Expect to See?

For those unfamiliar with the small island nation of Iceland, know that you will be in for a treat. One of my favorite parts of watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette is to see the luxurious locals used for the sumptuous overnight dates. Iceland will not disappoint. It would be a huge surprise to me at least, if we do not have one date at the famous Blue Lagoon. The warm thermal mineral waters, surrounded by snow capped mountains, is one of the most visited sites in Iceland and a truly romantic locale.

The Hotel Ranga would be another perfect location for a Bachelorette overnight date. The luxurious country lodge located on the salmon stocked River Ranga would be an ideal spot for a Bachelorette date. I can just see Ali, wearing that cute plaid Joe's Jeans shirt we saw her purchase from favorite store, Alys Grace, casting a fishing rod with one of her potential soul mates.

Perhaps we can expect Ali and one of her Bachelor suitors to visit Iceland's, Gulfoss the beautiful double waterfall which reputedly has a perpetual rainbow and is considered by many tourists to be one of the most romantic sites in Iceland. Reykjavik's famous public baths are also a potential site for a Bachelorette date night.

The Nordic island of Iceland will be an ideal location for the Bachelorette. Hopefully I have wetted your appetite for the romantic series that will be airing less than two months from now. I for one can't wait!

Joyce, I'm not a diehard Ali fan but I'll probably watch it anyway. She was a bit too obsessed with Vienna - not that I liked Vienna all that much, but c'mon! Cheers :)
