'The Bachelorette' Week 7 Recap: Who's Hometown Bound?

Victoria Leigh Miller

After a bumpy stop in Hong Kong, Monday night on ABC's "The Bachelorette" Ashley Hebert and her remaining six guys moved on to Taiwan. And this week was do or die for the fellows, who are just one episode away from the coveted hometown dates.

Will we finally see if Ben F. and Constantine are really the same person? And is Ryan P. as happy at home as he is in exotic locales?

Before we get to all that, the gang arrives at the Regent Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan where they find out there will be three one on one dates and one group date. Ashley will only dole out a rose on the group date.

One on One date with Constantine

For the first one on one, Ashley and Constantine admire the Taiwanese countryside via an old time train. Later, they decorate a paper lantern with their wishes. Ashley's wish: romance. Hmmm, she has to wish for it? After dinner the couple release their love lantern into the sky, but not before a dog urinates on it.

One on One date with Ben F.

The next day, Ben F. and Ashley meet up at a park. They take a scooter ride, which leaves Ben with some mega helmet head and gives Ash the most excitement she's had all season. Wheeeee! They go to dinner, where Ben reveals he doesn't like to throw the "L-bomb" out a lot. But you have to wonder if he throws it out to Ashley, because he pulls an all nighter, causing all sorts of jealousy amongst the other guys.

Group Date

Ames, J.P. and Lucas get the final group date of the season-- and it's a doozy. They meet Ashley in Taipei's world famous photography district and (gee, this sounds like fun) the guys get to dress up in traditional wedding attire and take Taiwanese wedding photos with her. Lucas can't stand it and J.P. gets a rose for surviving this lame-o date.

One on One date with Ryan

Ashley escorts Mr. Happy to a local temple and then to the historic Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Square. But Ryan will have to turn that frown upside down later, because Ashley sends him packing when she finally realizes that he bores her to tears with his monologue on hot water heaters. She has absolutely no romantic connection with him so she decides to spare him the humiliation of a rose ceremony and sends him packing-- pronto. Ryan really can't believe it, asking Ashley incredulously, "You don't want to meet me family...?"

Meanwhile, has anyone else noticed the lack of bungee jumping and building scaling on this season's show? Ashley must have had a "no-adventure" clause in her contract because we're seeing an awful lot of sightseeing and shopping this season.

Rose Ceremony

Not much left to work with here, eh? But because Ryan was sent home on his one on one date, Ashley only has to break one more heart this week.

Ames analyzes his predicament, saying, "The situation is pretty grave."

Next, Ashley's five dwarfs-- Angry, Dopey, Droopy, Greasy and Twitchy-- wait to hear their fate.

The unlucky dwarf is Lucas, who is eliminated at the ceremony. Maybe if he just blinked once in a while, things would have been different!

Next week: Ben F., Constantine, J.P. and Ames head home with their mutual girlfriend in tow.
