The people chant

The players shout

And through the air the whistle blows

The ref yells out, the coaches groan

The other team gets the ball

They throw it in, and receive a pass

Defenders kick and win it back

Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass

In the air a miss aimed kick

The header must not be missed

More passing, a punt, up into the very front

The keeper stares as the striker stops

The crowd breathes in and sings a song

A perfect kick, to the corner frame

The goalie jumps, what an awful shame....
