The Barack Obama Halloween Costume

R. M. Dubuc
Presidential Halloween costumes are a great way to celebrate Halloween during an important election year. Adults can have some fun creating a Barack Obama costume, and the costume requires very little to put together. A well done Barack Obama Halloween costume could easily win you the votes at any Halloween party or Halloween costume contest. The basic materials and props for a Barack Obama Halloween costume are minimal, and with a dash of personality, the Barack Obama Halloween costume could be a big hit this year.

The Wardrobe

A Barack Obama outfit can be created very easily, and many men may find that they already have the basic pieces for a Barack Obama Halloween costume in their closet. If the basic wardrobe pieces are not on hand, check the local Salvation Army or Goodwill for costume pieces. The most basic costume pieces for a Barack Obama Halloween costume are a white shirt (long sleeved), dress pants and belt, and a tie. The key to wearing the white shirt and tie is to roll up the sleeves a bit and push them up. This is the classic Barack Obama look for town hall and community appearances.

A flag pin or Barack Obama buttons can be added for further props. Shoes can be casual, and aside from sneakers, almost any casual or dress shoe will complete the look for a Barack Obama Halloween costume.

The Appearance

The Barack Obama appearance may not be a perfect fit for everyone who wants to be Barack Obama for Halloween, but there are easy alternatives for those who cannot create a Barack Obama look naturally. If your appearance can be altered enough to resemble Barack Obama, go for a short haircut and dark hair. Lighter skinned people can use self-tanner or spray tan to enhance their resemblance to Barack Obama.

Barack Obama masks are available on the mass market for Halloween now, both in stores and online. The Barack Obama masks vary in quality and expression, so choose wisely. Wal-mart.com and Target.com have Barack Obama masks for sale for $12.88 and $13.99, respectively. Other large Halloween retailers also have variations of a Barack Obama Halloween mask for between $15 and $35.

Barack Obama Props

There are many ways to add some Barack Obama props to your costume. Campaign signs, especially those that have "change" posted on them, and campaign flyers and buttons can add to any Barack Obama Halloween costume.

Another way to add to a Barack Obama Halloween costume is to add some arm candy, such as a friend who will dress in a Michelle Obama costume. Group Halloween costumes can include other presidential or vice presidential candidates or hopefuls.

The Barack Obama Personality

If you really want to get into character for a Barack Obama Halloween costume, be prepared to smile a lot, and hand out plenty of handshakes. The personality of an Halloween costume figure is as important as the costume itself, so watch a few Barack Obama film clips to practice some of his mannerisms. Speak deliberately and be sure to pause every so often to get into character for a Barack Obama Halloween costume.

What would really make the costume funny yet to the point would be to have him wear devil horns or have half of his face be muslim to show the two faced thing he's got. That would definately make the costume real and win the contest!
