Jack and the Bards Talk...
Black is the Knight.
My Lord:
Would'st thou pray, delight me with discourse by the fire my Lady and teach to me such things that are of great antiquity, that I may join you in the heavens above all else?
My Lady:
If my Lord commands it, I must, by my stolen freedom, obey sire! For am I not correct in supposing that thou art higher than the feminine principle, when on Earth we interact? If one chooses to aspire to heaven it is indeed orderly ordained, that the chosen doth comply.
My Lord:
That said, come then! Be seated upon the hearth and place thy feet upon this barren stool that I have given to you, your Lord! Let us begin with poetry madam, for the arts are never more artfully read than when recited by the muses.
My Lady:
'Tis well spoken your grace and befitting a man endowed with great office, that he indeed knoweth how to charm a Lady. Thus, it is so, that I will feed you with my gift of grace and recite a verse or too for the occasion.
My Lord:
Occasion my lady! What occasion do you speak of and why with such a taint of the humors spitting and writhing as it were from thy bosom.
My Lady:
Take not on so my Lord, for it is, for thee, that the mood be set and the rendering given.
My Lord:
Well then!
My Lady:
A Poem My Lord entitled: The two Trees...
The form of man divided
Upon two trees is laid
One is false and chiding
The other morning's glade
A numbered secret hidden
Within the tree she sleeps
Seven steps to heaven
As ten's what Satan keeps
The time it thus approaches
When forbear shall the throne of men
Or else the line be broken
Mistaken yet again.
