Many adolescents face the annoying skin condition known as acne at some point in their lives. Acne is the cause of the pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads that randomly appear on the body, typically on the face, chest, and back. The appearance of these blemishes can lower self esteem, make people feel dirty, and can ruin the day. Fortunately, there are things we can do to lower the occurrence of these unsightly growths by taking good care of our skin.

The most effective skin care method for acne is prevention. As far as this condition goes, it is important to take steps to prevent pimples from forming. Following a daily skin care routine and being proactive against acne will allow you to be more successful in dealing with the inflammations. So, how do you help your skin fight acne? Read on!

Acne prevention involves one basic element: cleanliness. Obviously, a daily bath or shower is the most effective way to keep your body clean. Some people take two showers each day, one in the morning and one at night. This is recommended if you live in a humid climate, or your acne is hard to control. Showers should also be taken after any physical activity that produces a large amount of sweat. Allowing the sweat to stay on your skin will clog the pores, which promotes acne.

As much as you may want it to be, good skin care is more than just bathing every day. Use should also use a mild, oil free facial and/or body cleanser for a deep down cleaning of your skin. Removing the oils, grease, and excess dirt from your body is essential to discourage acne from forming. If you wear make up, it is recommended that you remove it nightly using a make up remover. Do not allow your make up to sit on your face overnight, as it will help stop up your pores.

Though thoroughly cleaning your body daily is very beneficial in the prevention of acne, its not the only steps you should take in safeguarding your body. You should also wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Tight clothes will trap sweat and dirt snugly against your body, promoting build up in the pores of the skin. Also, keep your sheets and pillow washed regularly. You should also wash make up brushes and any other tools you use on your body frequently.

Acne is a very unwanted skin condition. Thankfully, it can be prevented, or at least greatly reduced, by practicing good prevention measures. Clean your skin daily using an effective body and face wash. Shower after any good deal of sweating. Keep your bed clothes clean, and wear good fitting clothes to help decrease the formation of acne.
