The Bayou Classic Fryer Model 3066A: Review

Because Only the Best Will Do

T.K. Moyer
If you like to cook outdoors you know how important it is to have the right equipment. I recently purchased a Bayou Classic Fryer 3066A and I believe it to be one of the best outdoor deep fryers on the market. Many of my friends and family members have this fryer and I wish I would have purchased it when I first heard about it. Here is why.

It is huge
The Bayou Classic Fryer 3066A's 30 quart fryer pot is huge and thick. My previous deep fryers were fairly small and the metal on the pots were very thin. It is true that a thin pot allows your oil to heat quicker, but it also allows the oil to lose heat sooner. You need a fryer pot with the perfect wall thickness and this one has it. You can also expand the size of the fryer pot up to around 50 quarts.

It gives plenty of heat
The Bayou Classic Fryer puts off up to 55,000 BTU's of heat. This amount of heat is only available in commercial sized fryers. The great thing about this deep fryer is that even though it puts off so much heat it really does not use that much more gas than a standard fryer.

It is easy to use
Like most deep fat fryers the Bayou Classic Fryer 3066A fires up with the simple strike of a match. After hooking up your gas source just open the valve by turning to the open position. The markings on this fryer are well marked and easy to read thus helping prevent mishaps and fires. The patented design of the Bayou Classic Fryer allows for the oil to flow in a circular pattern which improves the balance of heat throughout the oil which allows the the Bayou Classic Fryer to cook your food more evenly.

It comes with plenty of accessories
The Bayou Classic Fryer I purchased is more suited to fry turkeys. It came with a turkey hook, poultry rack, frying basket, a 12 inch thermometer, and a 30 quart pot. I purchased one of the accessory kits that included a 50 quart pot and a 20 quart pot. The 50 quart pot allows you to fry up to 18 pounds while the 20 quart pot is perfect for frying fish.

It is a good value
The old saying you get what you pay for is definitely true. You can get much cheaper fryers with inferior accessories. I found that the Bayou Classic Fryer gave me more quality than I expected. I purchased mine for $124 dollars from my local Ace Hardware.

Things I did not like
Maybe I am an easy customer, but I found the Bayou Classic Fryer 3066A to be flawless. There is nothing I would change about this product other than the price. That being said it is well worth it. I have found that everything I cook on this fryer comes out evenly cooked and crisp. If you are looking for a great fryer you need to consider the Bayou Classic Fryer 3066A. It is one of the best on the market.
