The BCS is Perfect!

C.B. Jones
Before December 2nd, I used to understand peoples hatred for the College Football Bowl Championship Series(the BCS). I figured, College Basketball and the National Football League have tournaments. It works for them and could work for college football. After watching the BCS Selection Show on Fox, I now realize genius and beauty of this system.

Who cares if the only undefeated team didn't get picked to go to the National Championship game? No body even knows who Hawaii is anyhow. Only insomniacs and sexual predators trying to lure kids to their lair/moms basement are up late enough to watch them play a game. I'm not trying to knock Colt Brennen, but it's not like he is even in the Heisman race or anything.

The only reason I know his name is because ESPN analysts randomly mention him when they run out of relevant things to say. Nobody I know has even heard of the guy. If not for me being such a sports junkie I would be totally clueless about his many "achievements". He has done something buzz worthy, right? Beating up on a bunch of scrub teams doesn't count.

LSU earned their spot. Sure, they are a two loss team. That doesn't really matter though. If not for the triple overtime rule of going for two points after a touchdown, they would have won those games. Everybody knows that Les Miles has compiled one of the best teams in football EVER! That stupid overtime rule exposed their only weakness.

All you bracket loving fools out there need to chill out. No need to have a tournament when computers are equipped to present the best possible match ups. I wont bore you all to death by explaining the process of ranking teams by strength of schedule, popularity of mascots, average player shoe size, etc. None of you need to know about such details. Computers are perfect in every way.

There's no tournament, get over it already. The BCS has worked well enough thus far. At this point there is no need to break tradition. Getting rid of the BCS would be like Canceling Christmas AND Independence Day. Giving college football a tournament or Plus - 1 system would be like serving tacos instead of turkey at Thanksgiving dinner. Tacos are great and all, but it just isn't the same.
