The Beaches in Nice, France

Angelica
In Nice, France the main city beaches all consist of large and small pebbles. For those of you who are used to sand beaches, this can be quite annoying. The best way to conquer these pebble beaches, is to take a towel and possibly - but not necessarily - something to put under the towel. Make sure you have clothes or another towel to put under your head, since the pebbles are definitely to hard to rest your head on.
To lie down comfortably, you might need to move around on the pebbles a little bit to make sure they are in line with your body. A tip for walking on the pebbles: choose the biggest ones to manoever your way to the sea, or shower or toilets. Or wear your flip-flops or special shoes.

In summer, the pebbles get hot, very hot at times, so it is wise to make sure you have a big towel, and on some days you might need your flip-flops to walk to the sea.

In case you really do not like pebbles, there are sand beaches in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, en in Beaulieu-sur -Mer. These are small towns close to Nice.

On the edge of the town, when you are at the port of Nice and go to the left towards Mont Boron, after several hundred meters you run into several rock beaches. Ofcourse you cannot lie down comfortably there either, but they are very suitable to swim. On one of the beaches, Coco Beach, you can see sea anemone, crabs, and lots of fish swimming around. You do need to be a good swimmer since the current can be quite strong there, and the waves at times quite big.

Overall, if you want to do extensive swimming or snorkling, these are the best beaches in Nice to go to.
