The Beast

Mike Frazier
Man is a beast

A cruel creature that haunts the dreams of purity
An intelligent fool who cringes at the thought of mind over matter

As ages pass, his bestiality deepens
As the light of soul is smothered by the darkness of flesh

He grasps for nothing
As the Nothing grasps for him

It consumes him
Until only evil is left.

When he awakens
From the cold nightmare

He finds His palms sweaty
As a beast who runs from himself

And when He looks within for answers
All that is found is a void that shall never be satisfied

Until the end of time, when His journey ends
A beast of a man standing before the Light of Righteousness.
