You should probably know where I'm coming from so you can understand my perspective on it. I'm a huge Beatles fan but I'm actually not much of a video gamer at all. I do like the more interactive games like Rock Band & Wii Fit where you are actually doing something, but I'm not much on the thumb oriented games at all, in fact I think they're pretty boring and a total waste of time.
Knowing this about me is important because it helps me in making one of my major points I want to make with this review: This game is not just for "gamers." I'm proof positive of this because I'm definitely not a gamer and I love this game.
I also don't think you necessarily have to be a huge fan of The Beatles to get into this game. The Beatles music has been incredibly popular for over 45 years now for a reason. It's easy to like. Even if you are not yet a Beatles fan, it's likely that if you get this game you'll end up becoming one.
The Vocals
My favorite part of the game is the singing part. Why? Because it's the most realistic. When you are singing you are really singing and you are really being judged by how well you sing in tune and in time. I actually think it's a really great way to practice your singing because you get real time feedback on how well you are doing and The Beatles melodic songs are great songs to practice on!
This game takes Rock Band vocals to the next level because for the first time ever more than one person can sing at once. In fact up to three singers can sing at one time with this game.
Singing in Harmony
But it's more than just having three singers all sing the melody line (although you can do that if you want) the game actually allows players to sing the various harmony parts in the songs (for those songs that have harmony parts, of course.) And if you are at all familiar with The Beatles music, you know that many of their songs have vocal harmonies.
The Drums
Drumming is my second favorite part of the game because it's pretty realistic too, especially in "Expert" mode because each beat in the song corresponds with a beat that you have to play in the game! It's really a great way to improve your rhythmic skills and I have heard of many people who actually are able to go from learning to play on Rock Band to actually playing real drums!
The Guitar / Bass Guitar
This part of the game doesn't interest me as much. Why not? Because as someone who actually plays guitar I know for a fact that it's not at all realistic. It's much more like your usual thumb pushing video game. But if you are a fan of Guitar Hero then you will like this aspect of the game too.
45 Beatles Songs
The cool new harmony singing feature is great, but what really puts this game ahead of the other Rock Band games is the songs. This game includes 45 Beatles songs spanning their whole career. These are great songs and they are really fun to sing & drum!
Cool Graphics
I love the graphics particularly the really awesome "dreamscapes" that the game has created for the songs from Sgt. Pepper through Abbey Road. Some of the visuals are really psychedelic!
It's also very cool how they carefully recreate four of the most famous venues that The Beatles played at including The Cavern Club in Liverpool and The Ed Sullivan Show where they made their US performance debut.

Post a CommentWhat do you mean The Beatles are 'out'? If you were right and The Beatles were 'out,' then Rock Band wouldn't even be making a game for them in the first place, now would they? By the way, The Beatles are still selling extremely well. After this game, there was a spike in the sale of Beatles albums everywhere. And even before this game, The Beatles had no issues when it came to sales. When a band like The Beatles come around, they change music forever, which means that they will never be considered, as you so ignorantly stated, 'out'.
ok, then you buy it and play it. The Beatles is out and nothing can bring them back. Sell it in the UK, maybe they will sell.
