The Beauty Benefits of Green Tea

W.S.
Green tea is known to most of us because of its wonderful health benefits. But, this refreshing beverage also has many and more beauty benefits. You can drink green tea or even apply it externally for skin blemishes, rashes, even body odor. Read on to discover the many beauty benefits of green tea. The first of green tea's beauty benefits is its properties as a natural antiseptic. It can relieve itching and swelling that accompanies unsightly cuts or scrapes. Simply dab a little green tea onto a cotton ball and apply to the affected area for relief and to speed healing.

The same treatment can be applied to blemishes, sunburns and to reduce puffiness under the eyes. One remedy for puffy eyes that appears to work well is to dab the eyes with a cotton ball soaked in green tea and then apply cucumber slices for ten minutes or so.

Another of the best beauty benefits of green tea is its ability to keep your teeth white and bright. Green tea contains fluoride, which most of us are familiar with from our toothpastes. Simply drinking a cup or two of green tea after meals will keep your smile healthy and bright for years, in addition to regular dental care of course.

Green tea has other spectacular beauty benefits such as the ability to keep skin looking younger. Green tea contains catechins, which slow down the aging process by fighting damaging free radicals. Drinking green tea on a regular basis is a great way to reap its beauty benefits and will help keep your skin looking young.

Another of the amazing beauty benefits of green tea is its ability to treat sunspots and wrinkles. Green tea is a powerful antioxidant and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the skin, as well as reducing the speed of aging of the skin.

Green tea can also be used as a natural exfoliant and moisturizer when applied directly to the skin or made into a skin "spritz". This is one of the beauty benefits of green tea that most anyone can experience directly. To make a green tea spritzer for your skin, steep one cup of green tea leaves in one quart of boiling spring water for twenty minutes. Bottle in a sterilized bottle (preferably with a spritzer top) and refrigerate.

The green tea spritzer has a ton of beauty benefits, including those listed above. Use it for a mouthwash, an antifungal foot soak, sunburn, cuts and scrapes, strained or tired eyes and/or blemishes.
