The Beauty and Efficiency of a Resource Based Economy

A resource based economy is quite simply the harnassing of the earth's resources and making them available to all people. It is literally the optimization of the earth's resources which naturally puts human concern over profit.

We need to understand that we have been nothing but lied to. There is no shortage of resources. I will repeat that for emphasis, there is no shortage of resources. Scarcity is in fact, a fabrication, an intricate web of lies designed by the present system for the purpose of maintaining established institutions. The idea is part of the propaganda and fear pushed on us, in order to maintain the system.

If we harness natural resources using technology to its fullest extent, it will overcome our outdated method of rationing resources with the monetary system. As long as resources are rationed, many will be left out because corporate and governmental institutions, ration them out unequally, favoring those with power, in order to maintain control.

It is a given that the earth has no shortage of water or food in the world. As we are aware of, the earth's oceans cover ninety-seven percent of the world. There is no shortage of water. It is the high expense of desalinizing it and making it available for human use, that stands in the way.

We have the ability to harness the technology of growing food hydroponically, to feed the world a thousand times over. With hydroponics, we can literally grow food anywhere in the world. Starving children of the world are not so, because of the lack of food, it is the lack of purchasing power, that causes millions of needless deaths daily, not scarcity.

Energy is nothing but abundant on this planet. If only twenty percent of wind energy were harnessed, it would be enough to power the entire world. Radiation hitting the earth's surface is ten thousand times what the world actually needs. The sun's heat energy can be harnassed through nanotechnology. Wave power's global potential, is eighty thousand terrawatt hours per year, this means that fifty percent of the world's energy could come from this source alone. The most remarkable of these, is geothermal power, the possibility of this natural resource could power the planet for no less than four thousand years. Again, we don't see this happening because there is no monetary profit in it.

You are never going to hear of these amazing possibilities in mainstream media for they are just too efficient for the market system. A resource based economy utilizes all that we have in terms of human and environmental potential. What stands in the way, as we clearly understand, is not the level of advancement of technology. So what is standing in our way? The inability to adapt to the rapid pace that science and technology has now begun to move at. Science and technology could be used for human betterment, and the restoration and protection of the environment. This harnassing of energy, using the most efficient methods of water and food production are just one aspect of intelligent application of this new systems approach. This is what we can have as a result of implementing a new resource based economy. We are one people and one planet.
