The Beauty of Responsiblility

Steve Glenn
Understanding the value of responsibility is one of the most beautiful qualities a person can possess. The practice of responsibility is to include one's self in the schemes of life. It is to challenge the issues of life. Instead of life working on it, responsibility works on life and achieves great things.

Firstly, responsibility doesn't play the victim. Responsible people don't accept the pervasive concepts of inferiority, lack and limitations. They know that they are special, unique people who have never before walked the planet. Like other highly responsible people, they know they are a blessing to humanity. For instance, these are the people who like to empower other people in rough situations. These tough economic times have left many communities living in hopelessness and depression. Many people have lost homes and jobs to foreclosures and to company shutdowns. In several major cities, once middle class citizens have found themselves surviving in tent communities. But they still take the Iniative to support and to encourage one another. Responsible people do not turn down a handout, but they do not passively sat back and wait for help. They do whatever is necessary to sustain themselves and their families. For example, many people who were once executives and CEOs of major corporations are taking on janitor and restraint jobs with much lower salaries. These humble responses are certainly not from people who sat back and play the victim.

Secondly, responsibility is an achiever. Responsible people set goals in every area of their lives and pursue them. Personal, family, and community goals are high on their list. They decide early on what they want to be in life. They know that life is too short to waste time on a roller coaster of indecisiveness. While others are indulging in all kinds of drugs and pleasures, responsible people are attending universities, small colleges, and technical schools in order to acquire skills to contribute to society. The families of responsible people feel blessed because they know who they are and what they can achieve. The families in which responsibility and initiative are highly valued are the families that will move America forward. The children of this families will be strong whether both partners or available or not. Also, a responsible person will seek the common good of his or her community. If something is at stake such as the peace of the community, the responsible person will gather people together for sharing solutions to the problems. If gangs and violence are disturbing the environment, responsible citizens will rise up against this challenge.

All in all responsibility is deliverance. It delivers from all that tries to entrap humanity, whether it is without or within. Responsible people ignore negativity. They are optimistic about the times. While others outwardly fear what the future might hold back, optimistic people are inwardly rejoicing at what the future might bring. They know that adversity has two sides. The present circumstances and conditions don't cast them into a state of depression. They are able to endure tough times while remaining fully convinced that it will eventually pass. Responsible people grow from these times. If they have made a mistake they don't blame others. They point the finger to themselves, make amends, and move forward. This is the beauty of responsibility.
