The Beauty of Serenity

Finding Beauty in Serenity

I was working at a wedding photography studio. And I noticed there were very few super skinny, "model" type women in these weddings. A few, but most of the women getting married were curvier, healthier looking than the typical model. They looked more like a beauty queen and less like an androgynous waif.

I noticed the most beautiful woman was not too thin, not too thick, and she was so serene looking, I thought she must have been so in love. And I thought, I want to be like her. I want to be serene woman and have faith in God that he'll protect me from any harm. While I have had a little bit of trouble with strangers trying to get too close without me wanting to get to know them, I want to have faith that Jesus will protect me.

So I keep working out, I keep trying to eat healthy, keep meditating and pray to God that I can stay calm cool and collected. I would like it if the world would stop dwelling in the scary economy and blaming each other, and turn to Jesus their rock.

A lot of the problems were created by greed. Wanting to make a lot of money in real estate, and when the bubble burst a lot of people were left out to dry. The whole financial fiasco was mostly caused by repackaging bad loans and what not.

So how do we get our confidence back. By serenity. By having faith. That the Lord gives and he takes. But we need to take responsibility for our feelings. And to do what's good for us and not "treat" ourselves with Mc Donald's supersized fries.

If we remain serene in the face of these trials, we will stay beautiful and keep healthy. Watching the news constantly will not help you stay serene. You can keep informed without watching the news constantly. It has been said that watching too much news and seeing negative messages will make you more unhappy and dissatisfied.

So while ignorance isn't bliss, keeping calm under pressure and keeping open to new opportunities will help you remain positive. There is a crisis in confidence and we need to put our faith in Jesus. There is the serenity prayer, it goes something like this. Lord give me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, and the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to tell the difference. Or some version of this. I believe the AA meetings talk about this prayer. And I believe there is some wisdom to serenity despite the trials in America today.
