Madonna quickly became one of the hottest acts in the 80's with her stage presence and the attitude that she gave off of "I don't care what people think of me".
To help the flashback be complete you have to listen to the song and remember your favorite Madonna moment and watch the video and imagine you and your friends going crazy in the living room screaming the words to her songs and dancing around like a bunch of monkeys just released from the zoo.
Just think of how different music as we know it today would be without the influence of Madonna. If Seymour Stein from Sire Records had not released this first song that was produced in studio by Mark Kamins where would some of the most popular acts of today be. Regardless of what genre of music, you would have to agree that most female music talents of today exude something in their act that they can thank Madonna for. If they do not exude something reminiscent of Madonna then they have her to thank for making much of what they do possible.
If Madonna had not broken down so many doors over the last 25 or so years, the music world would have been far less interesting and exciting.
Thank you Madonna for being out there, thank you for not being afraid to let it all hang out, and thank you for not being scared away because people didn't agree with you and your music way back when. We all in one way or another have to send thanks to you for being a strong woman of will and might and for showing that doors are made to be broken down, and opinions can be changed.

oh jeez... I could relate to the part about dancing around the living room like a bunch of monkeys. Thanks for the flashback!
Madonna turned out to be a helluva business woman. She is living proof that if someone wants something bad enough and is willing to do whatever it takes to get it, then they can get it, at least in America. Nice work!
Love the '80s nostalgia! I was never a big Madonna fan, but I agree, she did pave the way for a lot of other artists.
I'm not a Madonna (the entertainer) fan, per se, but she appears to be a good mother and she does some good humanitarian work. I'll give her kudos for that. Good article though.
