The Benefits of Acai Berry

Kip Willington
The acai berry pronounced ah-sigh-ee, grows in the Amazon Rainforest on a palm tree. The fruit is small and resembles a grape or a blueberry but is much darker. Acai berries grow in bunches on the tree just like bananas. One average tree will produce anywhere from three to nine bunches. It is not suggested that you simply pluck the berry from the tree and begin eating. It is 90 percent seed pit and only 20 percent pulp. So the acai berry must be processed before it is consumed. They are placed in water and then agitated against each other. This separates the the seed from the pulp, forming a thick acai puree. Containing more than twice the antioxidants of blueberries and ten times that of a grape, the acai berry is thought to have the best nutritional value of any fruit on Earth. Without any known side effects the health benefits of this fruit have been enjoyed by the natives in the Amazon River region of Northern Brazil for hundreds of years. The healing power and wellness of the acai berry are infamous.Consuming the berry which has a tropical fruit flavor can lower your cholesterol and improve your cardiovascular system.
