Single? Lonely? Want someone to cuddle with in the middle of the night? If so, let your friends and family set you up. There are definite benefits to going on a blind date. One of them being that you actual has someone to hang with on Saturday night. Below are six others.

1. You see someone new.
Blind dates help you go out with someone new. As a result, you get out of your rut. Subconsciously, you realize you don't have to be stuck with the same old guy or gal you see from time to time and can move on to someone better.

2. You get a perspective.
Think your current steady Freddy or Frieda is a loser? One of the benefits of going on blind date is that you have another person to compare you're usual date to. Then, you'll know for sure if your feelings are correct or merely overblown.

3. You shut up your critics.
One of the worst parts of being single is all of the married or coupled up people pressuring you to be in a relationship too. They can't understand why you're alone or think they have an answer to your problem. By going out on a blind date, you show them you're trying and quiet them down for a while.

4. You get practice dating.
A benefit of going on a blind date is getting practice in the art of dating. Maybe you're a bit rusty or just don't have any skills at all. The more you go out the more you learn and improve. For this reason, approach blind dating as an opportunity to brush up on your dating game - whatever happens - happens.

5. You make a new friend.

Blind dates sometimes lead to new friendships. Although you both may agree that you can't be together romantically, you can agree on other things like religion or sports. You can use your common interests to build up a strong friendship, one that can last for a while and give you both comfort and pleasure.

6. You actually fall in love.
Naturally, the biggest benefit of going on a blind date is falling in love. Your risk on another person's idea of a good mate for you turns out to be a good one. Now, you've met the man or woman of your dreams and can take the next step - marriage.

Ready now to go out with the cousin of a close friend? Use blind dating as a way to propel yourself toward the kind of relationship you want and need in your life.
