Years ago I belonged to a book club, so every month I would get books in the mail. After awhile I had so many books that I didn't have enough places to put them. I used to read voraciously. As soon as I would finish one book, I would start another one. Sometimes I would read several books at a time.
Then my husband and I decided to move because of the business he was in. All the books got packed away in boxes and off we went. The problem is I never unpacked the boxes. When we got to our new home, I took out some of my favorite books and the rest remained in the boxes for several moves. Eventually I started to give the books away.
With an eReader you will never have that problem. You will have access to millions of eBooks. I'm sure that you won't have a need to download that many, but you could if you wanted to. There are free eBooks, and many places to purchase eBooks online. Many libraries even allow you to check out eBooks. You'll have to have a library card in order to check out the eBooks, but once you do you will be able to check them out online.
An eReader is easy to take with you where ever you go. Mine fits easily in my purse. I take it with me whenever I leave the house. It's amazing how many opportunities I have to read when I'm out. They're great for when you travel. You'll need to get a little reading light that attaches to the eRreader if you want to read at night or are in a room that is dimly lit.
EBooks are easy on the eyes. The great thing about them is that you can change the font to a larger size. This is really helpful for those older eyes, like mine, that get tired easily. You just push a button to change the page and they are easy to hold with one hand. Many times I just prop mine on a little pillow and get nice and comfy in a chair. It's wonderful.
For many years I had stopped reading. Now that I have my eReader I spend a lot of time reading again. I didn't realize how much I had missed my old friend the book. There are quite a few choices of eReaders to choose from, but I recommend them highly. Just find one that has the features you're interested in. Once you have one, you'll never want to put it down.

Good article :)
Nicely done, Cheers. :)
I love holding a book in my hands and poring through the pages. Thanks for writing this. I do need to learn about other options and change. :)
Great article - I need one as my print books are taking over my house. I have lots of eBooks on my computer, but the eReader sounds like it is so portable and convenience.
I never knew what these were, Sondra. Thanks for the info!
Of course, my desktop computer can't go with me, but that's how I do almost all of my reading (even newspapers) these days.
I have to say I love the feel and the routine of reading an actual book, but the fact that you can get free books interests me.
my eyes are going, too, but i still love holding a real book!
Intriguing.
