The Benefits of Homemade Vegetable Juice

When most people think of vegetable juice they are repulsed at the thought of drinking a beverage that is not only healthy for them, but made from natural vegetables. Alternatively speaking many health fanatics use an assortment of fruits to make their health cocktails. Fruit juice concoctions do have some drawbacks if your looking to shed a few extra pounds. Fruits in general are high in sugar and contain a moderate to high amount of calories according to the amount or size of the portion consumed. In order to lose those unwanted pounds we need to cut out extra calories that go unused during the day. You might think your drinking a healthy all natural homemade fruit drink when in fact you may be consuming more calories than you normally would with a piece of toast and two eggs. For example: An apple contains 90 calories, a cup of grapes has 100 calories, and a pear comes in with a whopping 120 calories. You get the point; if you were to blend those together you would be consuming approximately 310 calories; however you do have a choice.

Vegetables can offer a wide variety of advantages in our diets, all you need is a juicer. Homemade vegetable juices offer very low calories and they're extremely low in fat. We all know how important healthy fiber in our diet is, homemade vegetable juices offer tons of fiber in conjunction with a low sodium content. Our final advantage of vegetable juice is an increase in our general vitality due to high nutrient and anti-oxidant content. If your sold, than below are three delicious recipes.
If you've ever had V8 juice than make your own. All you need is...

INGREDIENTS
3 cups chopped tomatoes
1 stalk celery
1 cucumber
3 drops stevia (optional)
1/2 teaspoon himalaya sea salt
pepper
cayenne pepper

Juice the tomatoes, celery, cucumber in your juicer. Add drops stevia if you like a sweeter taste, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper to taste. If you like you can also add a 1/4 onion, fresh oregano and basil and red bell pepper.

INGREDIENTS
2 carrots
2 cucumbers
2 stalks of celery
a piece of ginger
a handful of parsley

For this carrot juice with a kick all you need to do is throw the ingredients in your juicer and blend away for this carrot juice with a capital C. Smooth to your taste buds and filling to your stomach.

INGREDIENTS
Handful of spinach
3 stalks of celery
2 stalks of asparagus
1 large tomato

Bunch up the spinach and juice with the celery then set aside. Juice the asparagus with the tomato. Combine the two mixtures and stir well. A refreshing drink that even Popeye would love.
