The Benefits of Living a Positive Lifestyle

Life is Short - Why Not Think Positive?

John Vann
Many individuals who lead seemingly carefree lives and enjoy the benefits and rewards of a wealthy lifestyle, often do so because they also have a positive way of thinking. Of course, there was hard work involved too - but it takes a positive mind to take on a difficult task to begin with.

Businessmen, tycoons, musicians, even Hollywood stars and other celebrities live with, for the most part, a positive attitude. As a result they are all successful not only financially, but in their personal lives as well. Indeed, having a positive way of living really can affect every single portion of your life. A few of these aspects are explored below.

Becoming Goal-Oriented

One of the first and most important parts of living a positive lifestyle with a positive way of thinking is by using goals. Take a moment to sit down with a pen and a piece of paper (or at your computer if you'd prefer) and make a well thought out and realistic list of your desires, needs and wants in life, and then decide what goals you will need to achieve in order to turn your dreams into a reality.

When you create your list of goals, make sure to distinguish between short term goals and long term goals. Short term goals may be something you want to attain by the end of the day, the week, or even the year. But you should try to think a little farther ahead than this, and consider what you want in life 5, 10, and even 20 years from now - these are your long term goals.

Stronger First Impressions

When you maintain a positive attitude on a day to day basis you not only project a better image of yourself onto strangers and generally lead a more successful life, you will find that things tend to just come a little easier, too.

Maybe you will land your dream job because of that new tie you've just bought, the one you could never afford before. Or maybe you'll meet your dream man or woman on a blind date. Making a stronger first impression will also lead to a more satisfying social life.

Improved Social Life

Positive thinking and a positive way of living not only affects you, but your peers as well. No matter what kind of attitude you have, whether it is positive or negative will show itself to others. If you lead a negative lifestyle this will come out, no matter how hard you may want to try and hide it.

Because of your new, positive lifestyle you will find opportunities and offers you never before realized. Perhaps a passing motorist will stop and help next time your car breaks down on the side of the road, or that shiny quarter in the take-a-penny jar of your local store may be all you're missing to complete your purchase. Who knows, you may even run into the childhood crush of yours, and finally have the courage to tell her how you feel.

Living A Healthier Life

You may not realize it, but living positively can even affect your health, too. You will be able to sleep better at night knowing that you have taken full advantage of the day, and pride yourself in the idea that tomorrow will be just as successful. As a result of your improved sleeping habits you'll notice a slowing of some aging signs, like fewer wrinkles or the disappearance of unsightly bags under your eyes.

All of this will encourage you to eat healthier, too. Soon you will take careful notice of everything that goes into your system, and you will learn to indulge only as a reward for positive and healthy living. You might even begin exercising more, starting a workout routine or even join a gym.
