The Benefits of Multivitamins

Edward Raver
Hectic lifestyles, stress, pollution and processed foods all have a negative effect on the human body, but there is something you can do about it.

Forces That Work Against Our Bodies

Each and every one of us can relate to one of these scenarios: running late for work, we grab a doughnut from a vending machine; too busy to sit down for lunch, we visit the drive through window of the local fast food outlet; living in the city, the smog is sometimes too thick to see more than a few feet in front of us. Whatever the case might be, there are forces working against us to all but guarantee that our bodies need extra help, beyond the food that we eat, to be properly nourished with vitamins and minerals, which make it possible for every part of the human body to properly function.

Multivitamins are the Key to a Healthy Diet- and Body!

The tendency for all of us, when asked whether or not we are getting enough vitamins and minerals in our diet, is usually "of course, I eat all my daily meals". For the average person, however, the daily meals may not provide nearly enough nourishment; for example, the fast food and other processed foods that are eaten in restaurants or cooked at home contain literally thousands of flavorings, colorings, and additives to make them pleasing to the eye and palate. Very few, however, add vitamins or minerals to replace what is depleted from foods when they are commerically processed. Pollution also saps the body of vitamins and minerals, so obviously, some extra help is needed---bring on the multivitamin supplement!

Evidence suggests that multivitamin and other key supplements promote the proper functioning of the systems of the human body, thereby promoting health and fighting chronic diseases, many of which are caused by poor diet and environmental hazards. Also, research shows that certain vitamins can reduce the incidence of birth defects in unborn children, prolong the life of elderly adults, and help children to healthily grow into adults.

Multivitamins- Dollars and Common Sense

Multivitamins also have a practical benefit to them-for just a few pennies a day, the average person can theoretically avoid thousands of dollars in medical expenses over their lifetimes by avoiding many of the common illnesses that fill doctor's offices and empty the wallets of patients. The bottom line is that taking a multivitamin daily just makes good sense from many viewpoints.

How You Can Benefit from Multivitamins

Scientific studies, as we have seen, prove the benefits of multivitamins for people of all ages. With evidence that is hard to ignore, we all wonder how we can benefit from multivitamins. The first step is to consult your healthcare professional to find out which supplements are best for you. With nothing to lose and the world to gain, it will be the smartest move you can make for yourself and those who care about you---check out multivitamins today!
