The Benefits of Parenting with a Positive Attitude

How to Give Your Kids an Attitude Adjustment

When most people think of attitudes they are thinking of bad attitudes. Attitudes can also be positive. Children who are displaying poor attitudes have most likely been taught that attitude. Children mimic others. Positive attitudes can be taught to children too. Parenting with a positive attitude teaches children to have positive attitudes themselves.

People with poor or negative attitudes just do not do as well in life as those with positive attitudes. It is hard to live when you feel negative all of the time and much easier to live when you are always trying your best to be and think positive.

The same is true for children. Children who have learned to have a poor attitude will be more likely to struggle than their peers who have learn to have a positive attitude.

Attitudes are learned behaviors. When parents parent with positive attitudes they are teaching their children to live with a positive attitude.

Parents with positive attitudes are the parents that say things like "You're doing GREAT", or "Everything will always be alright". Parents with positive attitudes are encouraging rather than discouraging. They are happy, not sad or mad. Parents who parent in a positive way with a positive attitude are the parents of the kids that have respect, listen and follow rules, and act positively.

Attitudes are like socks. They can stink, and they can be changed. Fresh socks are warm and comfortable, soothing to the feet.

Parenting with a positive attitude is not hard to do. All one must do is try to always look on the bright side. Yes, kids are rotten at times. A positive parent knows this and that all kids act up sometimes where as a parent with a negative attitude is more likely to come down harder on their child and also more likely to struggle with discipline.

Parenting with a positive attitude also includes disciplining with a positive attitude. Kids are kids. A positive parent stays much more calm and can communicate more thoroughly that a parent who has a negative attitude.

Positive parenting attitudes are important. Parents set the example for the attitudes their children will develop. When we parent with positive attitudes we are more successful and productive as parents. Our children then develop the positive attitude and learn to live their lives in a positive way. They, and we, will struggle less and live happier more fulfilling lives. Take care! Thanks for reading J
