The Benefits of Procrastination This Holiday Season
Late Shoppers Are Ending Up with Some Terrific Details from Retailers Who Are Trying to Boost Their Year End Profits!
While the majority of Christmas shoppers try to get their gifts by mid December, or at least the majority of their gifts by then, there are plenty of us who have a difficult time finding just the right gift, or finding the amount in our budgets, to purchase Christmas gifts.
Fortunately, retailers are noticing and latching onto the trends by providing later holiday hours and fabulous deals as the big day approaches. As there are only a few days left before Christmas, many retailers are planning on this weekend to be quite profitable and to make up for any lack in Christmas shopping they have received so far.
Some stores, such as L.L. Bean are staying open all night with the hope of luring in last minute shoppers.
Saturday the 23rd is expected to be the biggest holiday shopping day of the entire season.
Sears, Roebuck and Co., are also giving out $10 reweard cards for the first 50 customers of their 5am sale beginning on the 23 of December.
BestBuy is also making a new offer for online shoppers. If shoppers purchase their murchandise by 3pm on Christmas Eve, they can pick up their order before the store clsoes at 5pm the same day.
Its also a newer trend that there have been plenty of holiday shoppers who have made room in their budgets to spend on themselves. With such great deals, it i shard not to take advantage of them.
The department store leaders include Macy's and J.C. Penney due to their recent improved fashion line.
Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works have already raked in a considerable profit this season, and hope this weekend will lead to an even greater profit.
There are of course plenty of shoppers who will arrive within the next few weeks toting their recently received gift cards. These purchases are not included until the cards are redeemed, so for many stores there is still hope of increasing their sales of 2006.
If you happen to be looking for last minute deals, a whole website devoted to the concept allows procrastinators to find deals at the spur of the moment.
Last minute sales on jewelry and watches can be found at Red Envelope and Kohl's. Kohl's has a sterling Silver Box Chain, originally $25.00 that just went on sale for $10.00. They also have a Platinum Princess Diamond Bridal Ring at Overstock.com that was just reduced to $6,299.99 compared to its original price of 12 grand. There are also plenty of engagement rings on sale this time of year for that perfect Christmas or New Year's proposal.
Kohl's also offers Sterling Silver Peridot Crystal Dangle Earrings for only $7.99, which are typically $20.00. Kohl's Sterling Silver 1/10 ct. T.W. Pendant has also just been reduced to under $20, which was originally $75.00.
There are also some great laptop deals out there.
The Latitutde C640 Notebook by Dell is on sale from $384.00. Hewlett Packard also has a Presario V4240us Notebook on sale from $761.60. Another lap top under a grand is the MS-1057 Barebone Notebook for about $650.
There are also plenty of storewide promotions and deals to be found this Saturday.
The difference in shopping later in the holiday shopping season is the lack of friendliness and a sort of desperate hope among shoppers.
Plenty of procrastinators have waited this long because they weren't sure what to get and are now stuck with trying to find something. It is recommended to at least have some sort of idea of what you are looking for before hitting the shops this weekend, and remember that gift cards are always a well received option.
