Remote car starters come in many different models as well as different price ranges depending on the required options you are looking for. The basic remote starter is available for just under $200 bucks and has an 800 foot range as well as one transmitter. Looking for something a little better then you might consider the next best model that is more popular because it comes with two transmitters and has a 1000 foot range.
I love the remote car starter so much I bought the best one there is in my opinion which is the two way pager unit which comes with a small screen. Once you start your vehicle with the transmitter, it beeps to inform you that your vehicle is actually running and also shows the vehicle emitting exhaust fumes on the screen. It also has a timer that appears at the top of the screen. If you forget that your vehicle is running, the transmitter will page you letting you know the vehicle has stopped running.
Now there is SST 2 way remote starter with a one mile range. Some systems allow you to add a keyless entry and a trunk release function. One of the neatest things is the ones that come with the GPS tracking which allows you to track the vehicle anywhere in the country. Some also come with an alarm system which will enable your pager to beep if your alarm is sounded. It also lets you know if the thief is outside or inside your vehicle.
The newest remote starter that is on the market is the Viper 7900. This state of the art system gives you the peace of mind in knowing that your vehicle is protected. Viper remote starters systems are great for those of us who don't want to directly deal with the elements.
Well depending on your price range and preference, the remote starter is the best way to go. I hope this was helpful in helping you decide which model is right for you. Remember be prepared this winter. Thanks for reading.

ah if only! minnesota is one frigid, frigid place. too bad i have on-street parking and a manual transmission. no remote starers for this girl.
Not a lot of these in my area, but I can see the benefit if it's cold where you are. :)
Sounds like a great gift idea for Christmas.
I'm with Al, I don't think too many Texans have these. However, there have been some rare mornings I would like one.
These are pretty rare in Texas.
I asked for one for christmas...i hope i get it! Buffalo, NY winters get cold!
Great article! I wouldn't use a remote starter myself but I can see it's benefits.
