The Benefits of Selling and Buying on eBay Express

I don't know about you, but when I first broke down under the pressure of friends and family and started to explore the world of eBay, I was overwhelmed. Although the website is much cleaner now than it was when I first viewed it, a new user can be confused and frustrated. There are thousands upon thousands of individual sellers and making purchases can be a lesson in patience. That, I believe, is why eBay launched eBay Express, a version of the original e-commerce site that is meant for new and inexperienced buyers.

For eBay Express Buyers

Since eBay Express is geared toward the new and inexperienced buyer, it's a great place to start. Unlike the regular old eBay site, there are no auctions and you can purchase all items at once in one shopping cart. It tones down the number of sellers, which allows you to shop without feeling overwhelmed. If you want to purchase an overstock stove from one seller and a pair of earrings from another, you can load it all into one shopping cart and make a one-time payment, which certainly makes things easier.

The best thing about eBay Express, however, is the fact that the requirements for sellers are higher. One eBay (the regular site) you'll find sellers with low ratings as well as high, but eBay Express requires 98% positive feedback and an eBay feedback of at least 100. This means that you'll be dealing with more experienced sellers who have proven themselves to be trustworthy, which is really the cornerstone of eBay Express.

Another thing: eBay Express sellers must have at least a business or premiere account, which also adds to the security of doing business on eBay Express. You don't have to worry about a thirteen-year-old trying to sell his mother's China from the cabinet.

For eBay Express Sellers

Even veteran eBay sellers have had numerous questions regarding eBay Express. It's confusing because there really isn't much information on the site regarding selling on eBay Express, so you kind of have to make a few guesses.

First of all, in order to sell on eBay Express, you must have at least 98% positive feedback and have enough experience to have a feedback rating of 100. Those are the main requirements for being featured on eBay Express. Further, you must have a picture of the item you are hoping to feature, and you must include an estimation of shipping costs. Under the "Specifics" area of the description, you must be able to note the condition of the item. Only new or nearly-new items are featured on eBay Express. You also must be able to accept payments through PayPal.

One thing that the sellers on eBay Express should do is promote the advantages of purchasing multiple items from one seller. Since buyers can purchase whatever they want, from whomever they want, without worrying about multiple shopping carts, their tendency will be to purchase from multiple sellers, which will escalate their shipping carts. If you are able to get your items featured on eBay Express, be sure to remind the buyers that they will save on shipping costs by purchasing all (or most) of their items from one seller.
