You can grow just about any plant in fabric pots. Including: Vegetables, Fruits, Herbs, House Plants, Annual Plants, roses, and even trees! They are also light weight and inexpensive. The fabric used to make smart pots are recycled and non breakable, making these pots long lasting. They're re-usable, and by using these pots, your plants will need re-potting less often. You can purchase smart pots just about anywhere .
Another essential for better growth in plants, is releasing heat. By releasing the heat, the fabric pot helps conserve water. The pot's unique design does these important jobs, and also help the plant's roots to stay cooler in hot weather. Other containers hold and trap heat, which stresses the roots, causing the plant to not grow as quickly as they should. Smart pots are well insulated, and also provide the plants with more resistance to insects and disease. When you use smart pots, you can use a less expensive, thicker, potting soil. The type of soil you use will effect how much you'll need to water your plants.
The container maintains better plant structure, because when the roots reach the sides of the pot, they do not circle as they would in other containers. On the other hand, root circling is harmful to the plants roots, causing them to not grow as effectively. These pots help develop a full and fibrous root structure, instead. The fabric pot "Air prunes", and aerates the root zone for a healthier maintained root zone. I found these pots very useful for my gardening, because using this material to pot my plants allows me to grow plants in the sides and walls of the pot. I recommend them to any one who wants better and successful gardening in containers.
