The Bermuda Tattoo will be held from October 22nd to October 24th, 2009 at The Historic Keep Yard of the Royal Naval Dockyard. Since 2009 is Bermuda's 400th anniversary, this year's festival should be better than ever. This festival will showcase music, international dance, and military precision from internationally recognized performing units. These groups are well known around the world for being the best at their performances.

Tickets can be purchased from http://www.bdatix.bm/. Ticket prices are $40, $60, or $80 depending on the location of the seats around the performance area. Shows start at 7:30PM.

There are eleven groups that will be participating in the Tattoo. They include: The Band and Corps of Drums of the Bermuda Regiment, The Bermuda Islands Pipe Band, United Dance Productions, The Band of the Scots Guards, The Pipes and Drums of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, The United States Army Drill Team, The Regimental Band of the Governor General's Foot Guards, The Pipes and Drums of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa, Frederiction Society of St. Andrew Pipe Band, The Royal Barbados Police Force Band, and The Military Band of the Azores. These military bands come from the Azores, Barbados, Canada, the UK, the US, and Bermuda. The acts will reflect Bermuda's current culture because they were an influence on it in the past.

Each night, the show lasts for about two hours. As a finale, there are fireworks after each show. Over 6,000 people are expected to attend over the three days of the Tattoo. There has not been a Tattoo since 2005 so many people are expected to want to attend this year. It is thought that tickets will go quickly when they are released, so if you want one be prepared.

The Tattoo is aimed toward Bermuda's residents to allow them to celebrate their history and 400th anniversary but tourists are welcome to enjoy it as well.

This event will cost $1.3 million and is being funded by the Government and the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.

The Bermuda Tattoo is suitable for people of all ages and will make a great family activity. It will be an educational opportunity for children to learn about the cultures that contributed to what Bermuda is today.

If you will be in Bermuda that weekend in October, head on over and check out the Bermuda Tattoo because it is not something that happens every year. It promises to be a spectacular event this year with large crowds and long performances.
