Robert Getz
If you are like me and love to sing, even you're not that good, then karaoke was made just for you. With this popular Japanese import, you can finally have your own band and enjoy stardom, even if it's only in your local bar or living room. Perfect for everybody because all you need is the desire to sing, something most of us do in the car on the way to work or in the shower. The 70's brought us some of the best songs to sing to with its variety; everything from disco to pop to rock had great instrumentals with easy to sing to, catchy songs. Some of my favorites are:

1. She's a Lady: Remember Tom Jones in his open shirt wowing the ladies, belting out: "whoa whoa whoa she's a lady..."

2. One Toke over the Line; Brewer and Shipley: Perfect song for those who remember the late sixties and early seventies takes you right back there.

3. I've got a Brand New Key; Melanie: This catchy song brought visions of cute and crazy girls chasing the boys all over town on their roller skates to mind.

4. Spirit in the Sky; Norman Greenbaum: Might have been a one hit wonder, but every time it comes on the radio who can't help but sing along?

5. Radar Love; Golden Earring: One of my personal favorites for singing in the car. the back beat really makes you want to put the pedal to the metal.

6. Bad Bad Leroy Brown; Jim Croce: This is the perfect bar song, just don't sing it with a pool cue in hand.

7. Joy to the World; Three Dog Night: This upbeat song will have the whole place joining in with its catchy lyrics.

8. Soul Man; The Blues Brothers: Grab your buddy some dark shades and sing along with this classic.

9. Bohemian Rhapsody; Queen: Everyone knows this one, the question is can you do it solo or do you need friends?

10. Freebird; Lynyrd Skynyrd: This one has some great memories for me and although it's last on the list it, is number one for me.

This is simply a hot list of some of the best of the 70's karaoke songs, there are dozens of them. You can find many great albums of 70's songs made just for karaoke at www.karaoke.com.
