Every one recognizes the "O". She is one of the top 3 talk show host on TV. She appears every afternoon at 4pm on ABC. Oprah designed her show to be a motivator, to help people see each other for their intrinsic value. She points out people who have dedicated their lives so that others might benefit. She is a big philanthropist giving away millions to nonprofit organizations in need.
Oprah makes us feel good about each other and it has brought her success beyond her wildest dreams.
Jay is tops in ratings and has taken over so gracefully for Johnny Carson "The King of Talk Show Host". Jay is great as a stand-up comedian and has been very successful in interviewing some of the top celebrity's in show biz, sports and politics. Jay was on at 11:30 but has brought late night to 10pm on NBC.
Jay has class and never goes to far when poking fun at people and their celebrity.
David Lettermen
David has been on late night television for 30 years and is great at comedy. Everyone has heard his top ten list routine at least once. David also does a remote eye in the street type reporting that is usually hilarious. David who sometimes goes a bit to far when roasting celebrity's admitted recently to an affair he had while dating his now wife after a bungled extortion attempt by someone affiliated with CBS.
David is still around and will continue to be in the eye of scandal because that is David's life. David's show appears at 11:30 on CBS.
Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen was catapulted to fame when she came out claiming her lesbian lifestyle. But secret is she is sidesplitting funny. She starts every show by dancing her way through the audience, which is also dancing along with some very danceable music. It is rumored that Ellen may take over Oprah's timeslot for ABC. She has a motivating and positive show like Oprah only more comedy.
Ellen attracts some of the best in entertainment as guest and is frequently quoted by celebrity magazines. Ellen is on at 4pm weekdays on NBC.
Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa
These two are great together. Regis has been in the talk show business awhile but Kelly is an ex-soap opera darling. They are on television 9pm every week morning on ABC. They attract the stay at home ladies and as such cater to there taste. Great show with high quality guest.
Dr Phil
A spin-off of "The Oprah Show". Dr. Phil dispenses psychological help to guest that have everyday problems that his audience can identify with. Dr Phil is a very popular show for everyone but particularly with the 20's and 30's crowd. Dr Phil's show is on NBC at 5pm weekdays.
Jimmy Kimmel
Very funny talk show host that has a pension for roasting everyone. Jimmy is popular with the west coast crowd. Show is a bit of a repeat but as the older hosts retire Jimmy will be there replacing them with his brand of late night television. See Jimmy at 11:30pm on ABC.
Conan O'Brian
Very popular with all age groups Conan has a varied genre that we all like. A rising-star in the talk host industry. Conan could put the older host out to pasture sooner then later. Conan displaced Jay Leno to 10pm while he handles things at 11:30pm on the Tonight Show.
Look for Conan to be the number one late night talk show host for the next 20 years.
Barbara Walters
Barbara has been in the news and entertainment industry for years. She currently is the main host of "The View" which can be seen at 11am on ABC. Very controversial group of four ladies. Some of which are liberal and some are conservative discuss politics, religion, gossip and everything in between.
Larry King
Talk about someone who has been around a long time. Larry was originally on radio in Miami. Larry is a very unbiased talk show host who interviews guest of all celebrity on his show every weeknight at 9pm on CNN. Very prime time Larry has interviewed anyone who is anything even if only popular for a few seconds. Although Larry's show is more interview-oriented it is a talk show by definition.
