The Best 5 Minute Games to Play During a Work Break

Metallman
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We've heard that phrase many times before and it holds true when it comes to the work place. During the long hours of working in front of a computer, employees need to take 5 minute breaks here and there to rest their minds from constant work. So with that in mind, here are my 6 of the best five minute distractions on the web.

Bloxorz

This highly addictive puzzle game will give you a quick boost to your mind. The object of the game is to guide a cylindrical block through mazes to reach your goal. Because the block is cylindrical in shape, the block will need to be shifted from lying on its side to standing up in order to be maneuvered through the narrow or wide spaces in each maze. The game also offers a passcode after every level so you can easily jot down the password and return at a later time to finish the game.

Neon Layers

Another highly addictive game that is great for a 5 minute burst of brain stimulation. The object of the game is to guide a sphere through a maze and reach the exit. The kicker to this game is that the neon lights need to be switched on and off to make them disappear and appear, removing ledges and returning them at opportune times to reach your goal. The game also keeps track of your progress so after a level or two, you can return to the last level that you were not able to complete.

3D Maze

This game offers a 3D twist to a classic puzzle. We've all seen the classic 2D maze that we find in practically every child's activity book. You draw a line from the entrance of the maze to the end. Well in this twist, the line is already drawn for you. You need to guide the blue ball to the red ball by shifting the 3D puzzle in all directions so that the ball can move forward. A great game based on a simple classic.

The World's Hardest Game

This game definitely lives up to the name. You are a small red square and you need to guide it from one green section to the other. You must avoid the blue balls and if there are yellow balls in the stage, you must obtain them before you can continue to green exit. The game will only record your score if you can get through the whole game. It will record how many deaths you've gone through (and there will be many) since the game offers little room for error. The game can be completed fairly quickly, if you can figure out the solution to the puzzles before diving head first.

Mario Combat

Take out your frustration on Bowser's minions in this fighting game. It stays true to the side scrolling that the early Super Mario Bros games made famous, but in this installment, Mario has learned the art of punching. As you go through the levels, you punch and jump your way through the stage to reach Bowser. This is a great way to kill a few minutes during your work break. Speaking of killing...

5 Minutes To Kill (Yourself)

This game is a unique game in which you are an office worker and are given 5 minutes to kill yourself. You walk around the office looking for items that can be used to cause yourself harm. It's not too violent and it's a little on silly side, but definitely one that you do not want any one in the office know that you're playing.

There you have it friends, my list of games that keep me sane when I need a little break from work. Each one can be played in a matter of minutes but I'm sure that each one will have you returning for more. Work hard and have fun!
