Adolescence can be a time to remember for a teen or a time to forget. If you are a teen living with acne, it is a time you are wanting to forget. Embarrassment and humiliation will follow them. Stress, hormonal changes, and bacteria are all causes of acne. It will appear on the face and back areas. How do you treat this skin condition?
How do you treat this skin condition? To treat acne, there are numerous over the counter treatments. For serious acne, antibiotics or benzoyl peroxide can be given. This will treat the bacteria involved with creating the acne. Vitamin A is also another great treatment. It removes the oils from the glands to prevent acne.
Acne also has an economic impact. Americans will spend over a hundred million dollars a year to prevent this embarrassing skin condition, acne. This alone is for over the counter remedies, but there are even more costs to consider. Some prefer to seek medical advice, thus payments to physicians and time lost from school or work.
More treatments for acne include home remedies such as a paste of nutmeg and milk, honey mixed with cinnamon and applied to the acne, witch hazel, or lemon rubbed on the face. If those don't work, you can try tea tree oil or apply toothpaste to the acne. Making baking soda paste is another home remedy.
The best preventative measure is to wash your face twice daily with a gentle soap or cleanser. Also try to avoid unnecessary stress. Refrain from touching your face frequently and always cleanse your face after exercising to prevent sweat from clogging your pores.
