For so long, the gas prices were terrible! The climbing prices then forced airlines to up their prices as well. That is understandable since they have to buy gas too. All of this ended up keeping people at home this summer. No one wanted travel, it cost too much. Since then, the gas uprising has simmered down, and gas is a lot more reasonable now. However, some airlines have still not brought their ticket prices down. Most have not actually. What is the deal? Could they be greedy? Are they worried the price will once again escalate? No one knows. So which airlines are the best to use at a time like this? Here are a few to help you out.

Southwest Airlines has been the airline of choice for a lot of travelers. They have much cheaper prices because they actually locked-in a set gas price before it went up too high. Southwest Airlines also does not charge for bags. Is there a downfall to this wonderful airline? Of course there is. One of the bad things about Southwest Airlines is that there are no reserved seating arrangements. Instead, travelers are required to line up according to numerical order and are then called on to board in sections by those numbers. This doesn't sound too bad at first, but often times groups of people are not able to sit with each other.

Another not so great thing about Southwest Airlines is that they make a lot of stops. This airline has been jokingly called the "air bus". That is about right too. They make so many stops that often times you have no idea where you are going next!

Are there good things about Southwest Airlines? Yes, there are. In fact, the good very much outweighs the bad for this airline. One of the greatest points besides the price is that they are almost always on time or very often early! How wonderful to not have to run a marathon to your connecting flight. They leave and arrive very promptly. Also, the staff of Southwest Airlines are all very personable. When other airlines have had stuck up staff or not so friendly flight attendants, the Southwest Airline staff are always happy.

Southwest Airlines now travels to a lot more places than they used to in the United States as well. All in all, Southwest Airlines is a great airline to choose for your travel needs. Other airlines are beginning to drop their prices however, they make up for that with luggage fees. Of course if you choose comfort over price, another airline would suit you better. Otherwise, Southwest Airlines will not disappoint you!

Traveling should not be so stressful. Traveling should be fun and new and an overall good experience. Don't choose something that is over priced, or something that is uncomfortable. Traveling shouldn't be stressful but it is. When you travel try to reduce your stress! When that happens your whole trip will be a lot better for you!
