The Best Ayurvedic Cleanse Diets for This Fall

As it becomes fall, many people take these times to cleanse their body of all the harsh substances that were put in during the summer. The ayurvedic diet for cleansing is important so that we can keep our body balanced between the summer and fall, and is also important so that we condition our body for the winter and the foods we will be eating. In the summer, we get accustomed to the warm weather and the foods that are consumed during that time, so in order to have a smooth transition to other foods and weather; it is a good idea to cleanse the body. In ayurvedic diets, the main principle is to ease the transition between summer and fall and to get our body ready for the variations of foods we will want to consume during the next season. The fall ayurvedic cleanse is when the two seasons meet, Pitta dosha is a term used to describe the heat and Vata is the term used for cooling. To put this in simple terms in the summer which is the Pitta dosha, we prefer cooler foods and environments, but when the season changes this could build up too much Pita dosha in the body. Too much Pitta can harm the transition into the Vata stage where we are going to building up an excess of that.

When you change your diet and your environment you should do it in a gradual manner, which is why you have a two week transition period. If you want to do an ayurvedic diet cleanse in the fall, you should follow some easy daily routine measures. In the fall a good way to start the ayurvedic diet, is to use cooling spices, which is the Pitta, to season your lunch foods and the calming spice mixes also known as the Vata seasoning to season your dinner. Some Pitta spices include Coriander, Cardamom and Turmeric which you can buy at your local grocery store for a few dollars. When you eat dinner and want to add Vata seasonings you should try Cumin, Ginger, and Fenugreek and that can be found at your local grocery store as well or on the Internet. If you are looking for an afternoon snack, you should have some warm milk with some Rose Petal Preserve or a couple teaspoons of Almond Energy. You should also avoid heavy foods such as raw or red meat, well-aged cheese and also fried foods should be avoided. In order to help the cleansing process, light foods should be the only things eaten because it can be broken down in the body faster, also eating soup and drinking hot water will help.

You should be following the Pitta pacifying diet during this time and continue it for a week. The Pitta pacifying diet includes foods such as fruits, dairy, herbs, meats, grains, and condiments. For fruit that is acceptable to eat during the ayurvedic diet Pitta process, you can choose any that are sweet. Sour fruits can aggravate the stomach and cause the cleansing process to become harder. Fruits such as oranges, apples, avocado, berries, fig, and watermelon are great for the ayurvedic cleansing diet. Anything sweet and bitter for vegetables is great for the balancing during the ayurvedic diet. During the Pitta process you might want to eat some vegetables such as cucumber, green beans, mushrooms, peas, potatoes, and celery. For the Pitta process only white meat should be eaten and limit your intake of shrimp and freshwater fish, but consider eating more chicken and turkey. For the condiments during this time, you should use spices and everyday condiments that are light in nature. During the Pitta process of the ayurvedic diet, you should stay away from spicy or rich things such as peppers and garlic. Dairy during the Pitta should consist of non-salted butter, goat milk, cottage cheese, and mild cheeses. Everything else in dairy including yogurt should be cut out during this time, along with hard cheeses and salted butter or margarine. For grains, all beans except black beans and red lentil beans will help keep you balanced and you should eat oats, barely, whole-wheat, white rice, and whole bran, and everything else should be avoided.
During the Vata process of the ayurvedic diet, you should focus on eating some of the things you ate during the Pitta process but also adding the foods that you should not have eaten. During Vata, the only foods you should not be eating are raw vegetables and dried fruit.

Another ayurvedic diet cleanse, is just following one simple rule which is cut out all junk food. By cutting out junk food you can help cleanse and detoxify your body, so you can keep it balanced and nourished during the transition between summer and fall. You should cut out salt, processed foods, canned fruits and food, preservatives and additives and all other forms of junk food like dessert. During this ayurvedic diet cleanse, you are trying to prepare fresh and simple meals for yourself using ingredients such as fresh vegetables and fresh fruits instead of just popping in that microwave dinner. You should only prepare food enough for one meal, and not worry about keeping leftovers because you need to get a variety of foods that are fresh and cooked right then. Cut out desserts and sugar products such as pop, tea, juice, and other sugary drinks. You should be drinking warm water or drinking fresh-squeezed fruit drinks as opposed to the already made fruit drinks. You should also avoid things such as oils, fried dishes, heavy-saturating foods, and also foods that are high in starch or carbohydrates. When you are going to start an ayurvedic diet, the main thing is to eat fresh and eat simple using spices and foods found in nature. Once you get through your two week cycle, you will be nourished and ready for the fall and winter.
