The Best Baby Bottles for Your Newborn

My Top 3 Picks for Newborn Baby Bottles

Alyssa Ast
Whether you make the choice to breast feed or formula feed, baby bottles are a must. Even breast feeding mothers choose to use bottles to feed their newborns. There are three bottles for newborns that I have found to be the best bottles to use for newborns. Each of these bottles I rate the best are reasonably priced and free from BPA materials.

NUK/Gerber Infant Bottles

My top pick for the best newborn baby bottles are the NUK/Gerber Infant Bottles. I like these bottles not only because they are BPA free, but they also stimulate and support breast feeding. This is an excellent feature because it helps reduce colic. Each of my children have had colic, and when I switched to this bottle, their symptoms were reduced. The bottles use orthodontic nipples, which promote healthy teeth also. The bottles are available in 5 ounce and 10 ounce sizes. I bought a great first starter kit containing these bottles at Wal-Mart for $21.97.

Playtex VentAire Wide Bottles

My second choice for the best baby bottles for newborns are the Playtex VentAire Wide Bottles. These bottles are also BPA free and because of their unique design they have shown to reduce gas, spitting up, and colic as well. It's said they may even prevent ear infections. What's great about these bottles is the nipple design allows the infant to easily switch from breast feeding to bottle feeding. The silicone nipples make it easy for an infant to drink from, as well as controls the air flow. I love the angled bottles because it supports proper feeding methods. I also bought this set at Wal-Mart for $26.15.

The First Years Soothie Bottles

My third choice are the First Years Soothie Bottles because they work decent and for the price they are purchased at they are more affordable than the previous two. If you have used the Soothie Pacifiers, the nipple design on the bottles is very similar to that of the pacifiers. While is doesn't stimulate breastfeeding as well at the other two, it does allow the infant to have an easy transition from breast feeding to bottle feeding. The bottles are BPA free and are available in 5 ounce and 9 ounce sizes. This set is also available at Wal-Mart in a gift set at a price of $16.52.

I recommended each of these bottle sets for all mothers of newborns. While I like certain features from each set, I would recommend the NUK/Gerber Infant Bottle as my first choice. These bottles work well and for the price they have shown to be very durable. Plus, there are multiple patterns available on the bottles.
