Ingredients
1 lb Ground Chuck or ground turkey
1 Green Pepper, chopped
1 Yellow/White Onion, chopped
3 cans Bush's Pork & Beans, drained
½ cup Light Brown Sugar
Barbeque Sauce to taste
Ketchup to taste
Yellow Mustard to taste
Directions
* Brown the ground beef/chuck with chopped onion and green pepper. Drain off excess fatty oil. Return to pan and add drained beans and brown sugar. Then add barbeque sauce, ketchup and mustard to taste.
* I like mine with a little kick so I usually add a little Cayenne Pepper and Texas Pete.
* And us GRITS (Guys Raised In The South) add just a touch of molasses.
* Once you have browned the meat you can actually mix all the ingredients in a crock pot and cook on low for a couple of hours.
WARNING!
These beans are addictive. These beans will be consumed by your friends and family at whatever gathering you take them to. If any are left at the end of the event, people will ask if they can take some home. People will demand the recipe, so print some out and take them with you.
This is truly a great recipe that people will request you bring to the party and one that you will fix voluntarily because you love them too!
Enjoy!
