The Best Bang for Your Dollar in 2009: All-Inclusive Vacations

Lynda Braun
There is nothing like an all-inclusive get-away to help you achieve that totally stress-less feeling. Why?
Well, by choosing all-inclusive, everything is taken care of before you arrive at your destination
.
Room accommodations, dining reservations, entertainment planning, proximity for gambling, and even shopping. can be organized and at your finger tips during your entire stay. Now, in order to decide where you might like to spend your vacation, it truly is not a difficult task. If this is the year you long to sightsee, sightsee, and then sightsee a little more, then I don't recommend an all inclusive. The reason being, if you want to truly tour your vacation destination, and sample its restaurants and nightlife, then it is not to your pocket's advantage to seek an all-inclusive vacation. Why pay for food, alcohol, entertainment, taxi cabs or rental car, if you have already paid for the amenities of an all-inclusive destination? Therefore, I would choose an all-inclusive vacation to a destination where you will be perfectly content eating, drinking, gambling, and being entertained in one specific area. Sure, you will probably, venture out one or two days, or evenings. But your prime destination should be the location of your all inclusive choice so you can reap the financial and stress free rewards that it offers.

With that said, the perfect all-inclusive vacation in the world, is a cruise. The reason for this is simple. On a cruise, everything is included, such as, dining and entertainment, with a casino and spa right onboard your ship. You do not have to call a cab or rent a car while at sea. In fact, you do not have to do anything but enjoy all that it possesses. In addition, you can choose to cruise to a location that you want to sightsee, sightsee, and then sightsee a little more, because you are only a day or two, or sometimes only hours in port. Then, it is back on your floating, all-inclusive oasis. A cruise gives you the best of both worlds. The only thing a cruise does not include is alcohol, for you must pay as you go.

To save the most money that you can, try to find a cruise ship that departs somewhere within driving distance from your home. This will save you the cost of airfare, which is quite high at this time. True, you must pay for gas, but if this is a family trip, you will cut your traveling expenses quite a bit, by traveling in one car together, versus buying airline tickets for each member of the family.

For example, I drove from New Jersey to Maryland, with my family of four. It was very inexpensive to do this. I found a cruise ship that went to Bermuda. We could not have asked for anything more. If you do not live where it is possible to drive to a port, then look for airfare destinations near ports that are least in price. A flight to Florida, or California, may not be expensive, depending upon where you live.

Let me give you some top cruise choices that will delight you. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines has always been my first choice, due to its, destination choices, price, level of service, entertainment, and of course, food, more than you will ever eat! There are so many destinations, and so many types of accommodations on board, and so many dates to choose from. In addition, it does cater to all ages and needs which is a plus for this cruise line.
1.The short cruise to the Bahamas is always great. (2-5 days)
2. Any cruise time 3-7 days, is perfect for Bermuda.
3. Recently, we traveled from Miami, Florida to Key West, Florida and then onto Cozumel, Mexico.
This was also a 4-7 day cruise and was wonderful. (Do not be leery of booking a short cruise, because you will feel as if you have been away for a longer period of time, and you can save money on the shorter length. Of course, if you can afford to book a longer trip, "Go For It" and you won't regret this decision.
4.There are several ships leaving from southern California, that travel to Mexico that are very reasonably priced.
5. A fabulous cruise is to Alaska, departing from Vancouver, British Columbia, or Seattle, Washington. My parents took this dream cruise and it was totally unbelievable. Look for good deals and you might just find one.

If cruising is not for you, then try an all-inclusive in Jamaica ,The Dominican Republic, or Turks and Caicos.
The reason I would choose these places, is that you will probably spend most of your time in the resort itself on these islands, for sightseeing would be less demanding

Very nice. Did you have specific places to visit while not on a cruise though?
