The Best Beaches in the United States

Booking the perfect beach vacation is easier than you think. Residents of the United States find themselves with many wonderful beaches to choose from and most are within driving distance from their homes.

Beautiful beaches can be found on the banks of lakes or on any of the miles of coastline. While lake water is usually dark and calm, it is still a great alternative to a coastal beach if one is not easily in reach.

When people think of beaches in the United States they usually think of Florida and California beaches, but in actuality there are wonderful beaches to be found in every state on the coast. North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina offer many less expensive options on the Atlantic coast and as are the beaches found in Texas and Northern California.

Experts often agree that the beach on Anna Maria Island in Sarasota, Florida, is one of the best around. Here you will find a magnificent beach that has sand that is soft and white like baby powder. The surround town is just as you would imagine a beach town to be. It has something for everyone.

Florida has a wide variety of beaches. You have the beaches on the Atlantic coast where the surfs are strong and also the beaches on the Gulf coast where you have calmer waters.

Also on the best beaches list would be the beaches in San Diego, California. Most well known for its great surfing, San Diego, also offers a great city with lots of attractions. San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the country. It is also home to LegoLand, an amusement park built to look as if it was made completely out of Lego.

Hawaii offers many beaches that are constantly on the top beaches list. Though you have to fly or sail to visit, it is definitely worth a trip. Maui should definitely be on your list of beaches to visit.

No matter which beach you decide upon, be sure you bring along plenty of sunscreen. Having fun in the sun is great but you cannot forget to protect yourself and your family from sun damage.
