Looking for a fun, romantic, relaxing way to unwind? Try one of these bike trails in West Central Minnesota- each promises something unique!

Central Lakes Trail- This trail runs from Osakis, Minnesota, to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, 55 miles to the West. On your ride, you can visit Lake Osakis, which includes a public boat launch and may be a perfect spot to stop for a picnic lunch! If you've ever visited the Midwest, you'll also be treated to beautiful views of many farms, and just a few of our more than 10,000 lakes! Stop in Nelson, Minnesota, for a drink or bite to eat! Don't blink, though- you might miss it! Located just on the outskirts of Alexandria, Minnesota. Once you do arrive in Alexandria, you'll have a tough time deciding what to do! We have a statue of Big Ole, the Kensington Runestone, a museum, fairgrounds, and a former train depot that is now a restaurant! Glacial Lakes State Trail- Once again, a great place to visit if you enjoy the lakes of Minnesota! You can even go horseback riding and in-line skating as well here during the summer! Lake Le Homme Dieu- Located in Alexandria, this beach is accessible from a paved bicycle path. Bringing the kids? Lifeguards are on duty from noon to 7pm during the summer season. The area also includes restrooms, a parking area, and of course- the beach! Lay out a towel and get a tan while you sip your iced tea! Lake Le Homme Dieu is close to restaurants and just a drive from downtown Alexandria, so if you'd like to make a day out of it, add some sightseeing, shopping, lunch, or maybe an afternoon coffee break with a friend!
