ohdeedoh
Ohdeedoh is a blog dedicated to home, design, and children. Most of its posts are about wonderfully decorated children's rooms, nurseries, and kids' spaces in homes. However, there are also plenty of posts linked to arts and crafts ideas, new and fun toys and other products, and even kid-friendly recipes. Each day brings new inspiration and surprises; I've started checking this blog as a daily ritual like checking my e-mail inbox and Facebook. They also showcase their top weekly blogs in case you missed them, and I find that browsing here can yield hours of eye candy and links to new sites and shops on the net. The blog definitely leans towards modern, more trendy design; think IKEA design married with MoMA aesthetics. But if you are into the trendy, or just like to get new and interesting ideas, then this parenting blog is a great place to start.
made by joel
My oldest son is quite the artist; he'll explore any medium and come out with some great work. I love art, too, but I'm much better at executing someone else's ideas than I am coming up with my own, which can get frustrating. Enter Made by Joel. This blog, written by an artist dad in Portland, Oregon, is a treasure trove of inexpensive, yet beautiful, craft ideas. Many of his posts require nothing more than paper, markers, and scotch tape, so not only are they simple, but you probably have the materials lying around your house already. Whether your kids are artists like mine who love to continually create, or you're just looking for a fun and simple diversion for a rainy day, this craft blog for parents and kids is the perfect place to look. My favorite project so far? Search "paper city" on his blog-trust me, you and the kids will be entertained.
Kickcan & Conkers
Kickcan & Conkers is a blog dedicated to "kids, modern vintage living, and sunshine galore." Written by a British mom of three who now lives in the South of France, this blog for parents draws inspiration from clean, modern design mixed with vintage and retro finds. If you're the type of parent who gets ideas from flea markets, yard sales, and vintage shops, then you'll love the objects and designs showcased here, not to mention the vintage-inspired toys and clothes. And just like your favorite shopkeeper who has tips for more resources, most posts feature links to more shops and blogs where you can find the things you love. Browsing here is not only beautiful, but helpful, if you like unique and interesting finds for yourself and your kids.
Jojo's Room
Designing and creating spaces for kids, whether it's a bedroom or a play area, can be a challenge. Trying to integrate all of their toys, art supplies, and other odds and ends kids accumulate and still have the space look put-together can feel like a feat of super-human strength. At the blog Jojo's Room, you'll find lots of inspiration for storing and showcasing all of your children's treasures. Don't be alarmed that this blog is written in French; the pictures speak for themselves, and links to products are easy to spot. No matter what country the online store links are located in, most ship to the US, and a simple online currency converter will help you figure out pricing. From new products to made-over yard sale finds, you'll love the ideas you find here to organize and showcase all that your child holds dear, while still having a home you can be proud of.
Parent Blogs Directory
Many blogs are written from people's daily, personal experiences, and parents are no exception to this trend. However, trying to navigate through the seemingly-endless blogs that seem to constantly pop up can seem less than worth the effort. But if you're drawn to parents' personal stories, triumphs, and struggles, the above link will guide you to the better parenting blogs on the net. This list contains blogs from all sorts of parents with a description under each one, so you can find narratives that appeal to you. If you love relating to personal stories of other parents, then you're sure to find a connection here.
