The Best Body Lotions for Dry Winter Skin

Johanna Swith
I recently tried a few different lotions. Normally I am loyal to Suave Natural Oatmeal lotion, but I wanted to expand my skin care horizons. I branched out from the normal because my skin has been extremely dry this winter. I want to share my opinions, thoughts and experiences with a few different brands in this article to help consumers make an informed buying decision the next time they find themselves in the health and beauty section staring at the assortment of lotions available on the market today.

Vaseline aloe fresh hydrating body lotion with cucumber and aloe and pro vitamin b5 is a really great lotion. I paid around five dollars for bottle at my local shopping center. The bottle was 24 fl oz, the fragrance is very pleasant. This lotion is light weight, it absorbs quickly into the skin and leaves a subtle feeling of moisture without a heavy greasy feeling. I will definitely purchase Vaseline aloe fresh hydrating body lotion again, and if you enjoy the light fragrance of cucumber and aloe I would recommend this body lotion to you also.

I also tried Olay Quench deep moisture body lotion with cocoa butter, jojoba and vitamin b3. This lotion was a little more expensive, I paid about eight dollars for a 20 fl oz bottle. This lotion contains something I had not previously heard of Aqua current science, which is supposed to provide skin that is 'velvety'. I love the fragrance, it is absolutely beautiful smelling. This lotion does moisturize skin superbly, but it does have a slightly greasy after feel. It also leaves a subtle glitter to your skin also, which is worth mentioning for those of you who love or hate glitter! All in all I liked Olay Quench deep moisture lotion, but it is a little too expensive in my opinion, but I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind glitter and has extremely dry winter skin!

When comparing the two lotions, I liked them both for different reasons. I preferred the feeling of Vaseline aloe fresh when applied to my skin, but it did not provide the moisture I needed in a few spots. I preferred Olay Quench on those areas, such as ankles and elbows, because it provided soothing relief for my dry spots that lasted. When considering that I normally use Suave Natural Oatmeal based on price and performance, I probably will continue to buy Suave, but for really dry skin, either of the lotions in this review are great options.
