We have found some great budget-friendly restaurants in the Pittsburgh area to help you during these tough economic times. Now, you can enjoy a delicious meal with your family or friends without worrying about spending too much money. Our dining experts have found these budget-friendly eateries around the Burgh.

Sauce (www.saucepittsburgh.com)

Sauce is a new diner style restaurant in Bridgeville. Sauce features gourmet burgers and chicken sandwiches. The burgers were recently named Pittsburgh's "Best Burgers of the Year" in 2008. At $8.00 each, including french fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, mac n cheese or homemade red skin potatoes, there is no better deal in town. Sauce also offers their signature sandwiches and cast iron skillet dishes. All entrees are $15 or under. The bar is designed to look like an old fashioned diner counter complete with two large flat screen televisions. Happy Hour is Monday - Friday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM with ½ of drinks and appetizers. Sauce is open seven days a week.

Kings Family Restaurants (www.kingsfamily.com)

With over 26 locations in the Pittsburgh area, Kings is open 24 hours a day and serves delicious budget-friendly breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The famous Triple Crown Breakfast includes your choice of pancakes, French toast, 3 eggs and two pieces of bacon or sausage and home fries all for $4.89. Popular lunch menu items are the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Sandwich, Tuna Melt, Grilled Reuben and the Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Tomato all for $7.99 or less including fries. Kings comfy dinner entrees include Beefy Mushroom Meatloaf, Chop Sirloin, Chicken Tenders and Oven Roasted Turkey all with two sides and for $8.49 or less. And, no dinner at Kings would be complete with a slice of piping hot apple pie topped with homemade cinnamon ice cream.

With three locations in North Park, Peters Township, and Robinson, there is Clubhouse Restaurant near you. This budget-friendly restaurant caters to both families and sports fans. All three restaurants have game rooms that are guaranteed to entertain children of all ages while they are waiting for their meals. The large bar area is a great place to gather to watch the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. The Clubhouse offers a wide selection of appetizers and dips ranging from $6.99 - $8.99. The Crab Stuffed Mushrooms are fabulous and the BBQ Ranch Chicken Dip is addictive. The Lounge Fries topped with mounds of cheddar and mozzarella cheese, bacon, sour cream, are one of the signature items on the menu. Try one of the many delicious sandwiches and wraps ranging from $6.99 - $8.49. Local favorites are featured such as the Sausage and Pepper Belly Buster, XXL Fish Sandwich and the Pittsburgh Wrap. The Hop House, with locations in Green Tree and Ross Township, is a great budget-friendly and smoker friendly gathering place. The new Pennsylvania "Indoor Clean Air Act" requires guests to be 18 or older. The Hop House features 17 fabulous flavors of wings at 10 for $6.95 and 25 for $15.00. Every Saturday, wings are $0.25 each. Sandwiches and Burgers range from $6.50 to $8.50. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Hop Along Burger and Secret Club are a few of the most popular choices. The Hop House offers daily drink specials like $2.00 Coors Light, $2.00 Yuengling and $2.00 Miller Lite Drafts. The Green Tree location has a live band every Saturday night with no cover charge. Dinners average $9.99 and feature popular comfort foods like Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes, BBQ Ribs and Pasta and Meatballs.
