The Best Buffets in Las Vegas

Now we all know that Las Vegas is famous for gambling, shows and so much more, but have you considered the fact that it is also known for the culinary concept of super sized buffets? Las Vegas buffets have received very high ratings, without the luxury price tag. These restaurants nurture the idea that bigger-is-better buffet philosophy and offer hundreds of options. The typical finds such as macaroni salad and mashed potatoes sit along side with Mako shark and baba ghanoush all of which can be enjoyed on the same plate. Buffets are available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. with specific breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch schedules. My favorite five picks are as follows:

To enjoy a breakfast buffets Las Vegas style, I like Excalibur's Round Table Buffet. The prices stay in the single digits and the food is fresh and the quality in the ingredients is certainly present. They are located at 3850 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Las Vegas, 702-597-7777.

I also love the Wynn Las Vegas as a mid range fancy buffet will run you a minimum of fifteen dollars dinners typically range from the high teens into the twenties. The champagne brunch is really nice but the booze will set you back so expect to pay around $20 to $25 per person.

If you want to be pampered, then you must go to the Bellagio. A unique menu is what sets its buffet apart from anyone else on the strip. You can enjoy Kobe beef, apple-smoked sturgeon, and venison along with Asian entrees and Italian plates. The amazing weekend Champagne brunch is available from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Breakfast $14.95, Lunch $19.95, Dinner $27.95 (Fri.-Sat. $35.95), Brunch $23.95, no charge for children up to age 3. Located at 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. S.Las Vegas, NV 89109.

For a truly high end experience try the Rio's Carnival World BuffetThe last of my favorite five is the Mirage, located at 3400 S. Las Vegas Blvd. The ambiance is cheerful with bright reds and oranges. There are eleven stations hosting salad bars, raw bar, barbecue, Mexican, Chinese and Italian. The deserts are rather universal and nothing short of what you would expect for Las Vegas. (3700 W. Flamingo Rd., Las Vegas, 702-777-7600). The desert station hosts more than 70 different varieties of pie alone. This place is consistently ranked by Las Vegas residents and critics as the best buffet in town. They have everything from to satisfy even the most complex palates from Mexican taco fixings and a sushi bar to good old American hot dogs and milkshakes. This place features a contemporary, upscale design with amazing lighting.

If you are not into gambling or anything else that Sin City may have to offer, you must visit Las Vegas just to experience the lavish buffets.
