The Best Burger Joint - Palo Alto Creamery Peninsula Fountain and Grill

Palo Alto's Tastiest Burger and Breakfast Restaurant

R. S.
Palo Alto, an important part of the Silicon Valley, California is a neat place. It houses the famous Stanford University and home to some big companies like Apple, HP, VMware and many more. It is also a shopper's paradise with various retail outlets, malls and shopping centers. For food lovers, Palo Alto has a lot to offer.

We have been living here in Palo Alto for over 1.5 years and have tried various restaurants around the place. Since all this while, we were looking for a nice place to enjoy a delicious vegetarian burger. Being vegetarians, it was tough to find a great burger joint where they made a garden burger that did not become soggy while you were mid-way towards finishing it.

Usually, at Chili's, Applebee's or Denny's and at few other restaurants, all we could find was a Boca burger or a black bean burger. Hence, the hunt was on to find the best tasting garden burger joint. Finally, our taste buds were more than satisfied when we recently went to eat at the Palo Alto Creamery Peninsula Fountain and Grill at Palo Alto Downtown or also known as the University Downtown.

It is a small restaurant around the corner at Emerson Street. The hours of operation are - Mon-Wed 7 am to 10 pm, Thursday 7am to 11 pm, Friday 7 am to 12 am, Saturday 8am to 12 am and Sunday 8 am to 10 pm. The prices are quite reasonable compared to the quantity of the food offered. All burgers come with an option of French fries/ salad. The service is friendly and fast. Your glasses will be filled with water all the while without waiting.

The ambiance is nice and friendly for kids and adults. You can even see the staff baking fresh pies while you are having your food. This place has got great customer reviews too. It is supposed to be great for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. In fact, you can drop in whenever you are craving for some tasty and healthy food.

The veggie burger that we had was simple awesome, it did not get soggy till the end. The veggie patty itself was tasty to look at and was made of potato, corn and some great vegetables. It came along with sliced tomatoes, pickles and tasty fresh sprouts. The French fries were larger than the regular fries but not at all oily. The whole meal of burger and fries was so delicious and yet did not feel heavy though it totally filled the tummy.

Usually, at other burger joints like The Counter, Old Pro and other places at Palo Alto, the burgers are not served with fries. Hence, you pay a $7.50 for a burger and another $6 or more for fries. However, at Palo Alto Creamery Fountain and Grill, the burger and fries come together for $ 10.50. It is also tastier and healthier than any other place too.

This place is also famous for its milkshakes, hash brown pies, and in fact, you can order anything and it would be tasty. The staff is also friendly and smiling. You could be dressed as casually as you like and drop in any time of the day to have a great snack. Not many eateries are open till late and Palo Alto Creamery Fountain and Grill is open until mid-night on weekends.

Usually, we do crave for a mid-night snack or a late night snack on weekends or a Friday and Palo Alto Creamery Fountain and Grill is the tastiest place to drop by. They do not take reservations and there is street parking or the public parking lot within a minute's distance. This place also accepts credit and debit cards and is cool for huge groups and kids. We just visited it last weekend and have decided that it would be our destination whenever we crave for a tasty burger!
