The Best Burger Joints in Murray, KY

Burgers, who doesn't love a good homemade old fashion hamburger! Hamburgers are one of America's favorite foods besides pizza. There is nothing better than the smell of a hamburger on the grill waiting to be served up on a nice fluffy bun. When it comes to eating out or on the run, no other food pleases the American palate more than the hamburger, hamburgers have been dominating the menus at restaurants across America for the last 75-years and it remains that way today.

To say that I live in a place where there are three burger joints that serve up a mean hamburger, or I should say a "mouth-watering hamburger"! Listed below are the top three-burger joints in and around Murray, KY.

Belew's Drive-In

This little gem of a place is located about 10 miles northeast of Murray on US Highway 62 in East Aurora near Ken Lake area, (270) 354-8549. Belew's has been in operation since 1951, is a drive-in restaurant complete with old-fashioned carhops. All diners can opt for seating at outdoor picnic tables or eat in their car or you can take it to go and cruse down the road to the lake and eat on the beautiful shores of Ken Lake. I have to say that this is the ultimate burger joint; the burgers are thin and crisp, served with the works on a homemade bun that is mouth watering. Belew's is also famous for their specialty shakes such as, hot fudge, peanut butter, strawberry chocolate, banana, raspberry and the list goes on and on; they will even make you a shake that is not on the menu if they have the ingredients. The cost for a family of four to eat burgers, fries and a shake is $22.50 with the tip. The burgers here are the absolute best Western Kentucky has to offer.

Culvers

Culvers is located at 818 North 12^th St Murray, KY 42071, (270) 761-2858. The burgers here are a little more expensive than that of an average burger joint, but the extra money you pay is well worth it when you taste the burgers they have here. Culvers is known for their specialty burger called "The Butter Burger", it is made from fresh, never frozen beef and is then seared on a hot grill to lock in all that juicy flavor. Culvers has such a mouth watering menu it can sometimes be hard to make a choice from all the different burgers to the home made pot roast served with all the fixings, savory sandwiches and scrumptious deserts and milk shakes. For a family of four to eat a dinner at Culvers will cost about $28.00, which is a little steep for burgers, but if you haven't had a Culvers burger, you haven't tasted heaven.

Backyard Burger

Backyard Burger is located at 801 Paramount Dr Murray, KY 42071, (270) 759-2480. Backyard Burger is a franchised burger joint, but unlike some franchises, this one still remains to be more of a home made type burger than that of a commercialized place like Wendy's or Mc Donald's. Backyard Burger is a sit down restaurant where you can take the whole family to enjoy a monstrous hamburger. Like Culvers, Backyard Burger is a little more expensive, but the sizes of the burgers here well make up for the cost. The average cost for a regular burger is $4.95; if you want one of the specialty burgers like the "Black Jack Burger" it will cost you $5.95 and some cost $7.95 each. For a family of four to eat here costs about $30.00.
