    Wait, isn't Temporary Home really about the different temporary homes people go through, and how in all, our life here is only temporary? I don't think of it as discussing people who are downtrodden or as the song being haunting either. And All-American Girl just tells the story of how a man wants a boy for all the boyish reasons (such as football) falls in love (not literally though of course) with his little girl, and then about another man in the same family who ends up feeling the same way. I guess that's the thing about music, people can always interpret things differently.
