The Best Case Against McCain

Louisa Burgess
John McCain, prisoner of war, war hero, Senator from Arizona, candidate for President, you have to have admiration for this man as a public servant and patriot. He appears to be a pretty darn good father too, either that or he had the good sense to marry two women who are very capable human beings and super moms to boot. So why do I question his ability to carry off the job of a lifetime? Several reasons, only one of which is his choice of Sarah Palin for his VP.

We are talking about a man who has wanted to be the President of the United States for a very long time. So what's his problem with multi-tasking? That's right, I'm questioning the ability to multi-task in a person who is seeking perhaps the most multi-task oriented job in the world outside of the job of Mother.

John McCain feels the presidential debates should be postponed because of the economic crisis in this country and the bailout that is being worked out. He has pretty much suspended campaigning. He is also slipping in the polls all of a sudden, coincidentally. How 'bout that? Coincidentally, the date he chooses for the postponed date appears to be the very date that Biden and Palin were supposed to have their Vice-Presidential debate, which postpones that one as well. How 'bout that?

One assumes that a senior Senator and a Presidential candidate have a bevy of aides and advisers. If not, you'll just have to take my word for it. So if a person is running for the job of President he should be able to participate in bailout talks or anything else that arises of importance to the country. In McCain logic that wouldn't be the case. In McCain logic if the country is at war, that would be all the President would be able to concentrate on; not the economy nor gasoline prices; not the national park system nor global warming; not health-care nor unemployment rates. Nothing but the war he is waging.

And that my friends may be the best argument against voting for McCain. He has the same inability to multi-task as George W.

Nice article. I agree. If you are interested in the actual draft "bail out" bill in the House of Representatives, search for "Emergency Economic Stabilization Act." on the web. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Spot on, girl. We've already had a president who couldn't chew gum and walk at the same time.

Ditto concerning McCain.....Neither candidate however inspires me....I am not yet over Hillary.

The debates are useless anyway; they just lie during them and slander each other. Neither candidate is the 'right' person to be American's next President; besides, it's not just the President that runs the country..it's his cabinet. McCain made a mistake selecting Palin as his VP choice but he got a lot of mileage out of it and for a while, it made him more popular. I want someone who can handle America's problems, not the world's problems, but by the same token, I want someone who can defend America when North Korean and Iran decide to use their nuclear weapons.

    I thought the same thing.

Thanks for the exposure. Truth needs to belong in the light. I watched the debate. McCain sounds like Reagan reincarnated. Obama cares, and will lead this country out of the W debacle. There is a new tomorrow!

Great article. McCain will not win....his campaign is making desperate, stupid decisions and he is a liar.
