The Best Chicago Mexican Resturant Hands Down

Mexican Resturants I Know Are Good

R. Hill
Some of the best Mexican Restaurants can be found here in Chicago, from the South side of Chicago to the North side, the best tacos, salsa and Guacamole is just a car ride away. Some people say if there are only flour shells then the place is not good, and some people must have Guacamole in order for them to visit that restaurant. Me I am a person that says you must have good salsa, guacamole and corn shells in order for me to eat at your spot. Here in Chicago the competition is tough and people will argue with you about why their place is the best.

Number one on my list is Nuevo Leon Mexican restaurant (773) 421-1517 located around 1515 west on 18th street in between Laflin St. and Ashland. The restaurant has the authentic Mexican décor, with great service and plenty of food to get you full. They start you off with an appetizer just to get your engine going, and then they bring you the main meal. The guacamole is great with the chips and the salsa is to not to hot or too mild. The place has two sides, one side for those just coming in to eat and leave and the other side is where you can bring your own spirits to wash down the great food. To end the meal the server will bring you a nice desert to make everything complete and to your liking. The crowd varies, it depends on what night and time you are going, mostly towards the evening you get the college crowd, and families. I took my girlfriend here for the first time and we are married now.

Ramon Tacos (773) 254-5301 located on Damen and Blue Island is my second favorite place to get tacos. They have a great Chicken taco that they put a special sauce on it while cooking, that sauce gives it a nice spicy taste. They have two versions of their steak taco, one is a skirt steak and the other is steak with onions cooked in it. They both are good, especially if you want cheese on them they put a slice of cheese in between the corn shell and let it melt while they get the meat ready to go on top. The mixture of cilantro, tomatoes, and lettuce will have you coming back for more. At the restaurant you can either sit down or take it to go. Believe me the tacos or burritos won't last long either way.

My third and final place is located on Clybourn Ave and W. Willow St. on the North side of Chicago the restaurant is called Jaimito's Burritos (312) 397-9009. I found this restaurant when I was out one night working, and the steak tacos I had from here were some of the best steak tacos I have ever had. The meat from these tacos melted in your mouth. The line at this restaurant stayed long, but the service was quick. I had the steak and chicken tacos the first time so that I could see which was better, and hands down their steak tacos were great. The place can get full some nights, but it is worth the wait which is not long. They have a window where you can sit and eat your tacos and just enjoy the night. If you are a burrito person you will not go wrong with this one so enjoy and adios.
